I had lunch today with my sister and dear friend of 63 years at Tea For Two and wanted to share how Michelle, our server, went above & beyond for us. My friend ordered the coconut cake to go but when she arrived home, she found the bread pudding in her to-go box instead. I called Tea For Two who apologized and offered the coconut cake if we were close enough to return. Well, we weren't but my friend only lives about 5 miles from the restaurant so the server took it upon herself to deliver the slice of coconut cake to my friend after she got off work. I need to explain something. My friend has been dealing with cancer for 11 years now, is still undergoing chemotherapy, doesn't drive, rarely gets out except for doctors' appointments and was so delighted to see coconut cake on the menu. The little things in life really matter to her-like coconut cake. I no longer reside in Texas so rarely have an opportunity to spend special times like this with her. So thank you, Michelle & Tea For Two, for doing what you did to make this experience so pleasant for my friend. It's things like this that make such a difference & brighten a...
Read moreMy mother and I made a stop today for a quick lunch. Mother requires a walker and we were offered a table in a corner which was quite difficult to get to with the walker. The "hostess" watched as we attempted to reach the table without disturbing the other guests. There was no offer of another table during this time. We ordered two salads along with a side serving of bread - the salads arrived - could have been made a home with better ingredients. The interior of the restaurant is old and worn out along with the mess of food under the surrounding tables which were swept off of the tables as they were being cleared - it was gross. Although our server, Daphne, was sweet, she was completely unskilled as a server. The total cost for lunch was $41.00 which included a tip. We will not be returning as there are many other tea rooms within the area which are nicer and much better food...
Read moreI was so looking forward to a lunch here because I had not been in quite a while. We were greeted and seated quickly and waters brought to our table. We ordered a salad and a combo with a cup of soup and chicken enchilada casserole. All the food was very good. Unfortunately, it went downhill. We asked for hot tea and the water was just warm, not hot. Dishes sat on our table after we finished our food and were never taken off the table (our empty tea pots, empty soup cup, etc). We ordered a piece of cheesecake for dessert and it tasted old, like freezer burn and spoiled. So we told the server and she brought us a different dessert, the coconut cake, which was good. No offers of a comped dessert which I thought should have happened since they served us spoiled food. Between that, the dirty dishes that were never removed from our table, and the lukewarm tea, we were...
