I love this church. It will always be special to me.
I am saved because of the Grace of God and the leadership/discipleship of this church. I was baptized here, attended mission trips and grew in the faith.
Grace flowed from Pastor Kevin and, to me, he was always on point with his Christ like leadership. Heavy focus on prayer first which I loved! His prayer walks have been inspirational and when I was in need of accountability or when my wife was in hospital and I had my 3 hour old baby at home by myself he was waiting for me at my door. He is human and makes mistakes but he is one of the best examples of a Christ follower I have seen in my 35 years. As Christ followers and church goers aren’t we supposed to be praying for church leaders and all in authority instead of tearing them down. After all they are listening to the same Holy Spirit as you are.
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NLT
My wife and I were married here, unable to do it on our own they offered a free wedding program. It’s a huge outreach to the community and an expense to the church but their mission statement ‘Changing lives, reflecting God’ is true in my life.
While we went there we saw God show up time and time again in their time of need. Moving from spring branch and a well established church into a new area and community was a huge risk but I am thankful they did.
I was checking out the new businesses in the area, saw the low rating for Crossbridge and was compelled to read, pray and respond. A church will never be perfect, people will always be people, messy/imperfect, I know this because I am one. If you agree with the mission of Christ’s bride the church then Crossbridge is a great example of that. Doing it’s best to be good stewards of what it’s given, being transparent and vulnerable with its body, continually disciple and change lives for the Kingdom and most importantly save souls for Jesus Christ. He can use the good, the bad and the ugly to Glorify himself so I am excited to see what He does next at Crossbridge! For Jesus himself said ‘blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness for the kingdom of heaven is theirs!’
If you don’t agree with the mission of the church or don’t believe that Crossbridge lines up with the New Testament church of Acts, or if you simply have questions, why don’t you talk directly to them like Jesus commands?
“If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back’ Matthew 18:15 NLT
“Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.” James...
Read moreCrossbridge Christian Church is my other home. I go there to be taught the word of God, to fellowship with my Christian brothers and sisters and to help others come to know the love of Christ Jesus. Crossbridge is a spirit filled church that overflows with love and compassion. I have first-hand experience with that love and compassion because I was one of the 600 or so families and I can't remember how many pets, that they gave shelter to after hurricane Harvey's devastating blow. The members of the church actually came to my apartment and rescued me, my roommate and all 6 of my cats in a canoe! They figured out how to get my terrified cats safely into makeshift carriers because I only had two carriers and 6 cats. They got us all safely across the flooded parking lot and into an army vehicle that was waiting for us. Other members of the church waited for us on higher ground and took us, the cats and others needing shelter to the church. There they gave us clothes, food, toiletries and a place to sleep. They loved on us, prayed with us and reminded us that God was our loving provider and protector. They also provided clean, safe kennels for my kitties, wet and dry food for them, litter and litter boxes and everything we needed to care for our pets. They worked tirelessly to provide food, shelter and comfort for everyonethere. They provided for our spiritual needs as well as our physical needs until we each had a place to go. Their love and compassion didn't stop their either. They came and helped me and mr roommate move what we had left from the old apartment and gave us food, cleaning supplies and household items to help us get settled into the new apartment. I no longer had a vehicle because mine was flooded beyond salvaging. Once again Crossbridge Christian Church reached out with the arms of love. The church supplied parts and a church member provided the labor needed to repair a car another family had gifted to them. When the work was completed they gave that car to me to replace mine that had been lost in the flood. In time I'll probably mostly forget what it was like to be without a place to call my own. What I will never forget is being loved, sheltered and provided for during that difficult time by Jesus through His disciples at Crossbridge Church. Pastor Kevin Pigg, his family, the staff and the church members were and are truly a beacon in a world that can be very dark and frightening sometimes. I didn't intend to write a book but I just thought everyone should know that I know firsthand that Jesus lives. He sits at the right hand of God the Father who love us and watches over us night and day. The Holy Spirit of God is with His church and His hands, His feet and His loving heart are all hard at work through Crossbridge Christian Church. God's children, my much loved...
Read moreWell I would say that it is time to set the record straight about Crossbridge. I have been attending this church since it started. Since then I have gone off to Bible college to learn the Scriptures in the most accurate way possible. I have come back and actively critiqued sermons Sunday after Sunday to make sure false doctrine is not being taught. I have yet to hear a sermon that promotes the prosperity gospel. Anyone who says that is the case at Crossbridge probably doesn't understand what that truly is. Preaching a sermon about tithing doesn't make it prosperity. It doesn't make the pastor greedy. It makes him Biblical. Jesus commands that his followers tithe. It's not about what God will do for you, it's just about following Christ. A church needs income not because they are greedy but because everyone's consumer mindset gets mad if the air conditioning doesn't work and if the building isn't well taken care of. Pastor Kevin, Brad, and Nate getting paid by the tithes that come in from the church doesn't make them greedy. If you think it does, read 1 Cor. 9. They need to provide for their families and since they devote their time to the church, the money has to come from somewhere. Read Acts 2:44-45 and try to make a case that it shouldn't come from the tithes and offerings given by the members of the church. Also, I promise that if it was taught here, we would have upwards of 40,000 members just like the rest of the churches that preach it. Pastor Kevin would be going nationwide spreading his heresy and the church would have nothing but 5 star reviews. People seem to not understand that the devil can cause a church to grow if bad doctrine is taught just as much as God can bless a church when good doctrine is taught. As far as the Food Pantry goes, whether one pays or not does not make it unbiblical. If you come to the church for the food pantry, then they are happy to make an impact in your life. But life is so much more than food. In John 6, Jesus explains that the crowds came to him for the physical things he could give them. They ultimately didn't care about who he was. He offered so much more but when the physical food stopped coming many of his disciples left him. He had the twelve that believed the signs and knew there was no better place to be. It is time for everyone to do a heart check. If you hate that the church seems to be run as a business, hopping on google and leaving a bad review, the way a consumer would, makes you a hypocrite. Today we were told that we should pray and not fight fire with fire. I figured I would pray and fight...
