I will try my best to be as fair as I can be about this place since I sincerely like Adobo and have some very good memories and moments at this place.
I have been to Adobo many times in the past (mostly during day/ lunch time) and each time was amazing and this place was one of my regular to go places for about a year.
Tonight, I visited Adobo after almost a year (dinner time) and this is how I felt:
The place was busy, everybody was nice (customers, the manager and staff were all pretty nice). We decided to sit outside. We ordered two Quesadillas and couple of drinks.
Unfortunately, unlike my previous visits, our Quesadillas were pretty burnt (both the bread and the meat) and I am talking about like 70% burnt (see the photos).
I wanted to speak with the manager, but I just didn’t want to ruin the night and also we didn’t have that much time to wait for new dishes to arrive.
So my message to whoever from Adobo who reads this (manager or the owner):
First of all, this review comes from the place of love, from a neighbor who lives down the street. And my only intention is to help you guys improve Adobo to the point that you guys become even busier than ever. And I also know that you guys are professionals and do a good job and I understand that we came in during your busy hours. But still, please look at the photos I posted, would you eat a Quesadilla that is burnt this bad yourself? Imagine if you would go to a restaurant and they’d bring you a dish that is 70% burnt. How would you...
Read moreExcellent food, especially for vegetarians, and a lively atmosphere make this Latino cuisine worth the 20 minute wait we had on Cinco de Mayo. Being an extremely busy night, I can understand why the food took a while to come out (I would guess an hour). We were busy in the mean time munching on salsa, chips, and the delicious queso they have. I wanted to get the guacamole dip but I was the only fan of it at my table! I ended up getting the vegetarian #1 for my entree, made up of a bean burrito, cheese Enchilada, and bean chalupa. I was looking forward to the bean chalupa as most Latino restaurants don't offer the dish, and it did not disappoint. Crunchy with a guacamole base and plenty of Shredded cheese satisfied my guacamole craving after all. The bean burrito is also a dish most restaurants shy away from, opting instead to put an assortment of crunchy vegetables such as bell peppers and onions into the burrito. Not a fan. Adobo however made it right, just beans and a red sauce on top. The cheese Enchilada was super cheesy and I didn't finish it anyway because I was already full at that point, but made for good leftovers the next day for lunch. The atmosphere during all the eating was very lively, plenty of crowd and a live band to top it off. Great food overcomes the slow service on this understandably busy day so I can only rate the highest...
Read moreI used to frequent Adobo's with my wife and children. I enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and most importantly the margaritas. I was a regular, frequenting every weekend and often coming in with fellow employees as well (yes, I recommended Adobos to many people). That all changed when one night I was there with my wife and her sister and my young daughter. We had ordered margaritas, food, and more margaritas. The food, drinks, and service were good! The issue I encountered was with the 18% gratuity that was placed on my bill without my knowledge, or mention from our server. I always tip well, and after a few drinks, and regular visits, I didn't even look until well after the fact. I had tipped 20% on-top of the 18% our server placed on the check. I would understand if there was a large party but there was 3 adults and 1 child. The food was great, the drinks were even better, but the practice that was employed that night on the check gave me a horrible taste, and I will not be returning. Also, I will be telling all of my friends who I have recommended coming here of the practice employed, as a warning. Integrity still means something, even if after all it was my fault for not fully...
