We are aware of staff shortages all around and we have no problem accomodating that. My 1 star review reflects an inexcusable customer service my wife had that had nothing to do with staffing challenges.
My wife went with our 2 year old daughter to have drinks while running an errand. She ordered two hot chocolates and requested one to be warm and not hot since it would be for our toddler. The cashier took the order but the male barista couldn't be bothered to make the drinks because he was too busy flirting with someone else. In the time my wife waited for her drinks, another customer came, made her order, and got her drinks from a female barista while the male barista still held my wife's orders in two empty cups while still flirting.
After waiting an unreasonable amount of time, my wife finally got her drinks and the male barista looked at my 2 year old and said, "Oh, you'll have to wait a few minutes for her to be able to drink it."
Do you know how long it was before it was cool enough for her to drink? The amount of time it took my wife to finish her errands and get home. And we even had to put the drink in the refrigerator.
We can be understanding of the long time to get the drinks (even though it was only because the male barista was more interested in spitting game with a girl instead of doing his job), but most parents will know that the point of getting something to drink for a child while running errands is to keep them occupied and excited enough to not be fussy. Kind of has the opposite effect when the child can see the drink but the parent can't give it to her because it'll melt her mouth off.
Why the male barista decided to serve a scalding hot drink to my 2 year old despite explicit request for a warm drink, we will never know. What we do know for sure is our mans, the male barista, needs to hurry up and get a girlfriend so that no unsuspecting victims give their toddlers...
Read moreI just found my favorite new coffee spot! This place is awesome! I live around the corner and have wanted to come by for awhile now. I'm so glad I did. When you first walk in, you're hit with the most delicious coffee aroma! The atmosphere is wonderful. The decor, the style, the ambience is just great. I really love the way they have the interior done, it looks fantastic. There is ample space to work, and they even have a little conference room for small gatherings. I thought that was pretty cool! Making my way up to the counter, I realized I had no idea what I wanted! The sweet girl (I think her name was Clara? She has the cutest pink hair) behind the register was patient, personable, and answered my all questions (yes, they have almond and coconut milk!) with a smile. While waiting for my latte, I chatted with some of the employees (Clara, Zack, Ellen, and one other gentleman, I forgot his name, sorry!). Everyone was in great spirits; smiling, helping each other, working diligently, you could tell they have a great work atmosphere going. And they were all so nice and friendly! Really great staff (I do want to mention I came in closer to closing time...as a former food service industry worker, it speaks VOLUMES they were so professional and positive!). And of course, my latte was AMAZING! Honestly, I haven't had a latte this good in a long time! It was priced very reasonably, much cheaper than corporate competitors. Also, I thought it was cool that I had the option to drink out of a real coffee cup or a to-go cup. Drinking my latte out of a nice big real coffee cup made it so much more enjoyable. The bathroom was super clean and tidy, and again, with it being closer to the end of the night, that says so much. It was decorated nicely like the rest of the restaurant. Overall, I can't rave enough about this place. So thankful I live nearby! Yall have a new regular customer!!!...
Read moreI visited this café today. The atmosphere was nice and the space was spacious, so I was initially very happy with the experience.
We ordered two hot vanilla lattes, madeleines, and walnut pastries. The madeleines were fine, but the walnut pastries were a serious problem. Although they looked white on the outside, inside there was a bluish discoloration that clearly looked like spoilage. We immediately stopped eating and informed the staff.
When the female owner came to check, instead of handling it with care, she said, “This is just crystallization from being frozen. How can you be so sure it’s mold?” Her attitude was defensive and dismissive, which made us very upset.
We didn’t ask for a refund or compensation. Having experience running a bakery in Korea, our only request was for better food safety and store management, since this is extremely important when it comes to something people eat.
However, the owner kept asking repeatedly what we wanted, with a displeased expression, which made us feel even more uncomfortable. We eventually left, disappointed and angry.
Later, when we showed the walnut pastries to others, they all had the same reaction—the discoloration was obvious and unacceptable.
This experience was very disappointing and frustrating. I am currently waiting for pregnancy test results and can only hope this will not affect my health.
We simply wanted the store to be managed properly, but after this experience, we will never return. The owner’s response was unprofessional and upsetting, and I feel compelled to share...
