Would you travel two and a half hours to go to a wood fired pizza place? Well we did. (OK, we were also visiting our daughter.) We found this place searching on Google and decide to eat there. This is a food truck that is parked I believe semi-permanently 15 minutes south of Johnson city tennessee. They have imported Italian ingredients. They have a simple menu with 4 12 inch pizza choices a veggie, margherita, pepperoni and meat lovers and it looks like a rotating pizza which on this particular day, was a barbecue chicken pizza and a Hawaiian pizza. (To the owners, please correct me on anything I have described incorrectly.)They also have cheese bread sticks. We ordered the margherita and the meat lovers. The pizzas have a thin crust. The margherita was fantastic, it had the right amount of cheese and sauce that had small chunks of tomatoes that gave it a good texture, with fresh basil that added a sweet flavor. The dough wasn't chewy and had a nice crunch and smokey flavor. The meat lovers had a balanced amount of toppings and nice meaty taste. There are two metal tables with an umbrella with four chairs for seating and one picnic table with an umbrella. They have can and bottle sodas and water. They were fairly fast even though they were a little busy. If you are in the area or even a couple of hours away, I would highly recommend Basil wood fired pizzeria.

My family is very intentional about what we eat. We struggle to find places that serve organic food and don’t cut corners. Seed oils, canola oil, and soy are just a few of the reasons we choose not to go to most restaurants. I heard about Basil and decided to go out of my way to give them a try. I called and talked to the owners and was pleasantly surprised that their quality ingredients checked off all of my boxes for things my family can have. Oh, happy day! I am so glad that I gave them a try! The pizza did not leave me feeling bloated and was enough to satisfy me. The coolest part was seeing the basil that they grow in buckets behind the food truck. They aren’t kidding when they say they do everything from scratch! Basil, thank you for going against the grain and doing things with integrity and quality! I can’t wait for my next visit!

I haven't had a pizza this good in a long time, if ever. I highly recommend that everyone in town try this place. We ordered the garlic cheese bread as well and...oh my goodness! The flavor is just unbelievable. I cannot wait to go back. Being blessed with being their neighbor, we constantly smell them baking in their stone oven. These guys are so friendly and provide excellent customer service. I hope everyone who reads this tries them out because I'm amongst many, surely, who want to keep this place going for many years to come.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST PIZZA AND CHEESESTICKS IN THE TRI-CITIES AREA!!!! The quality is on point and it’s worth the price! My family and I called Basil Wood on a whim, hoping for the best because we’ve had horrible experiences with other pizza restaurants in the area. I spoke with Westley on the phone, he was so kind and took my order before he opened for the day. Pizza was made on time a little after 12 noon but we were a little late picking it up. Westley was very kind to call and let us know our order was ready even though he was busy. Though we got turned around a bit trying to find his food truck, he was still professional and had our order waiting. My husband was very impressed by his politeness and professionalism. There isn’t much of that left these days and great quality of the pizza and cheese sticks to boot! We highly recommend Basil Wood!!! We’re hoping for a Brick and Mortar!! 🤞🏻 We wish you many...
