Everything was HORRIBLE from the service to the atmosphere. After we got our food the server literally NEVER came backI had to stand up and walk over when I seen a man that looked like the manager when he finally noticed me he then got the servers attention that I needed a refill. Never brought us extra napkins there was a child that sat behind us that SCREAMED the entire time we TRIED to eat! The kids hamburger bun was BURNT so my son wouldnât eat it AFTER we were ready to pay she offered another bun! Hamburger was COLD.. had to ask for boxes. THEN when we was checking out I was asked how things were and I told her about the hamburger and I got an apology paid over 70.00 bucks taco had more GREASE than cheese OR meat fries look like that dumped ALL the season salt on them normally I get it to go and it is alright dining in was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! On the drive home I figured I would call and ask to speak to a manager I was told one sec Iâll patch you through THEN she came back and said the manager actually just left to by something for the store I then asked when would the GM be in and I was told âhe justâ went out of town and they have no idea when he would be returning so I asked I was unable to speak someone of authority to take my complaint and she said yea thatâs right no one to take it! They will never have to worry about me spending a 1.00 there again! Oh yea and the chips and salsa was NASTY! FYI do yourself a favor and just go to El...
Read moreI had heard mixed reviews of Don Chuyâs but finally decided to try it for lunch. I have my own mixed reviews so now get it.
The chips and bean dip were great. The salsa was ok, nothing special but also not bad.
I ordered a margarita to drinks. Wasnât a bad margarita but did have an interesting after taste.
For my entree I had the Chimichanga with Fajita Steak. The tortilla was fried well and topped with queso. However the steak was so dried out and burnt, it was bad. I did eat it, mainly because I only saw my server when she took my order, brought my margarita and brought my check. She didnât stop by during my meal which is my other complaint. The service was non existent. She was carrying on a long conversation with the table behind me but didnât come by until my meal was done.
I would say I also get aggravated with establishments that charge as much if not more than other restaurants and they have the audacity to add a credit card fee. It was on my check before I was even asked how I was paying. I know restaurants have to pay a fee but that is a cost of doing business and should be worked into the pricing. Itâs not like the prices were cheaper than eating anywhere else.
I may consider going back but Iâd prefer to drive a bit further and go to...
Read moreThe atmosphere is okay but the bar stools are way too short, I'm relatively tall and the bar came almost to my shoulders sitting at a bar stool. It was uncomfortable to sip a drink there and no way could one eat comfortably there.
The tables were better - clean, closer to reasonable height for the chairs (but still not great). It was the food that did them in.
The Elotes are just sad. Drastically over-cooked, to the point that the kernels were warped and dry, flavorless and difficult to eat. The proportion of toppings was unbalanced. Nearly no mayo, meager cheese and so much chili powder it was choking. No lime/citrus to speak of. Just awful.
The burrito seemed to have a whole salad made on top of it? Never have I seen that before. I asked for a wet burrito, expecting salsa verde or roja. Instead it was smothered in so much Costco cheese-flavored sauce it was unrecognizable. While it was hard to taste the marinade of the meat with the lake of weird generic cheese sauce the burrito was floating in, small notes of flavor did come through and it was okay.
All in all I'm not necessarily sorry I tried them, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. If Taco Bell is your idea of good Mexican food, this is likely a great...
