Just had the weirdest dining experience here. I do not recommend dining in at this establishment as the customer service is awful (not the waitresses fault, but the owners). Ordered a chicken gyro and the chicken was inedible, tasted like rubber. Politely asked for the waiter to just take the plate back and that’s it, but they offered to get me a new dish. The way the waitress explained it was that she could not take the dish off of the bill, but she would replace my food with a new dish. She made it seem like she was not going to charge.
I get the bill after I finish my meal and I am charged for both plates, even though the waiter offered to get a new dish and I clearly returned the previous dish in full as it was inedible. Only one singular bite was taken out of it and that too was spit out and put back in the plate. The waiter said she saw that I didn’t eat the food but she still has to charge because she doesn’t have the authority to fix the issue. She even admit that she should have further explained that I would have to pay for both dishes.
Why should a customer pay for the restaurant’s error?
On top of this, I was overcharged for another dish. I ordered a falafel gyro and was charged for a falafel gyro plus 1 side which is $3 extra. And even more weird that if a wrong dish is rung up by the staff then you still have to pay for that error as well because they don’t have permission to fix that either.
Disappointing! The rest of my food was mildly decent but still lacking in flavor, but this issue really wrecked...
Read moreMy first impression after walking into Red Meze was the feeling of being transported to another place, another time , another world. It's elegantly adorned with mandalas , trinkets , kettles , cups , all of which were intricately detailed , bringing a sense of mysticism and culture to all of your senses.
I could feel the passion and pride from the staff. We were so thrilled to see lots of favorites , we knew we had to stick to the classics. Trying as many dishes as possible is one of the most adventurous, exciting ways to experience culture through pallette , to embrace ideas and creative passion in the kitchen.
We ordered the Red Meze appetizer , extra pita , Spanokopita , and Lamb Kebab and a Turkish coffee. The appetizer included garlic hummus , white bean salad , tabouleh , tzatziki , doma, and patlican kizartmasi. The lamb came with Turkish rice and a wonderful red sauce and cream.
The patlican was love and first bite ! It's one of the most unique flavors and foods I have ever tasted. I despise eggplant , and it completely shifted my perceptions on what vegetables can be.
All of the staff were very friendly and the waiter provided us exceptional service. We will definitely be back to try the baklava cheesecake , and the fusion food they offer. Looking forward to kebab...
Read moreTo be honest, I went in to this thinking it was going to be a total flop and failure. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the lamb shank. I can say that I was brought a salad without asking for it or the waiter saying that I was getting one. I'm not a vegetable eater. Other than that the service was more than adequate, waiters were very attentive and the manager even came out to make sure our meal was good. My partner was not quite as thrilled with her meal as I was, but she enjoyed it nonetheless.
Let me preference this by saying that I'm a huge baklava connoisseur. I've gone to many Greek festivals, I've been in many gyro shops, and I can say I've eaten more than my fair share of baklava. We had the pistachio baklava. We ordered two pieces. I can say without a doubt our two pieces combined were smaller than some of these smallest slices of baklava I've ever received, especially for the price of $6 a piece! Of the three very small bites of this baklava that I got, this one was supremely better than most, I just wish there would have been more.
Also, quite expensive considering how greasy the food was. Overall 3...
