Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Johnston

You know, I usually just state the obvious when reviewing a fast food place, if you've had one you've had them all. Not much usually changes from franchise to franchise. But this Popeyes in particular caught me off guard. Long story short, I was one of those customers that everyone hates. I showed up within an hour of closing time. I didn't expect them to have much left over at the end of the day, but I was really hungry, it was a long day, and I didn't really care what they had left, as long as they had something. So I placed my order, and my brother placed his, but they didn't have what my brother wanted. Without batting an eye, they employees offer to drop fresh chicken for us, even though that would have meant more work for them at close, and more food to throw out at the end of the night. That might not sound like a big deal, but it's been a long time since if seen someone go above and beyond to make the customers happy. They usually just say "We're out, what can I get you instead?" So, because of their willingness so make us happy and have an enjoyable visit, I decided to write a nice, albeit long (sorry!) review, because this is really the only way that I can applaud their service. Went to Johnston location waited a long time for three piece tender and shrimp and large ice tea the tea was water I poured it out in front of the owner who was serving me he said it's fine so I got a different drink went back almost two weeks later ordered same think and my shrimp was just a few pieces and the mac n cheese was old look at pictures this is the worst Popeyes very consistent on bad reviews you got KFC around the corner my new chicken spot

So I come back to this location for a third time I'm in the middle of ordering my food and the manager/owner comes out and says to hey how are you don't worry ill make sure the chicken is cooked I said excuse me he said I left a review on uncooked chicken sorry wasn't me you can see my review what's wrong you get to many bad reviews you can't keep track even if I did leave a review like that as a owner you should be more professional and not call out a customer on a bad visit at your establishment you should correct the problem needless to say I left and went to kfc last time I go...

Y'know, I'm not generally a fast-food enthusiast nowadays, but I really have to say that Popeye's Doesn't Taste Like Fast-food. Used to be a big fan of KFC back in the day, meaning at least 20 years or so ago. Recent years have proven them hit-or-miss regarding their treatment of chicken so I'm rather pleased Popeye's finally landed on RI's shores. Crispy, spicy (or not), moist, flavorful chicken, delivered in a reasonably short period of time. Of course, in a Post-COVID19 universe that means you'll be waiting for a delivery, which I can't comment on - or - you'll be waiting in the drive-thru line, which took all of 8 minutes, and three cars before us, from order-to-pickup-to-driving-away.
