My husband and I actually wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse, but after hearing it would be an hour wait we decided to come back there another time and started looking for other restaurants nearby. We saw Cane’s and decided to go there because we had never tried it before. I didn’t know they only had chicken fingers so that was kind of a disappointment. But I was hopeful that they would at least have a variety of sauces to choose from like Chick-fil-A because for me it’s all about the sauce.
When we walked inside I was immediately disappointed because their menu was small and everything was just chicken fingers and no other kind of chicken. They also only had their Cane’s sauce and no other sauces like a spicy barbecue sauce which was what I was craving. I don’t understand why they couldn’t at least have one other kind of sauce besides their Cane’s sauce which is a mayonnaise-based sauce and had no flavor in my opinion. We both got the three chicken finger basket with fries. They had a few different sizes of chicken finger baskets and one sandwich with chicken fingers in it.
I will say that the chicken was moist and had a flaky breading on it that wasn’t too hard or too dry, but it didn’t taste like it had a lot of seasoning on it like KFC’s chicken. To me, chicken fingers are for children and aren’t adult fare. It just wasn’t very satisfying. There was nothing special about the fries. They were just your standard crinkle cut fries that you get in the frozen section of the grocery store. They even seemed smaller than the regular size fries you’d normally get in restaurants; almost child-sized.
I guess I can see the appeal of this place for parents if they have small children and don’t want to spend a lot of money to feed them. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The food isn’t horrible but there’s nothing special about it either. If I wanted to eat fried chicken I can think of three other places in town with tastier chicken that I’d rather go to than this place. If you have kids they’ll...
Read moreMy family and I had heard good things about Raising Cane's, so we decided to give them a try. For us, it was a mixed bag. The chicken tenders are probably the best chicken tenders we've ever had. They were hot and juicy, and the breading wasn't too thick (a common problem with chicken tenders at many fast food places). Every one in my family agreed on how good the chicken tenders were, but we were all disappointed by the choice of sauces available with them.
All of us were completely underwhelmed by the Cane's sauce that so many people rave about. None of us found it particularly good. Though we ordered different sauces, we only received Cane's sauce, so we had to go back up to the counter to get what we had requested. The honey mustard was extremely thin and watery. They didn't have a barbecue sauce. Come on, really? No barbecue sauce with chicken tenders? What were they thinking? No sweet and sour sauce. No spicy mustard. It's pretty sad when the people around your table agree that McDonald's has better sauce choices than a place that has great chicken tenders.
We all agreed that we would like to eat their tenders again, but when we do, we will be bringing bottles of our own sauces.
Raising Cane's really needs to improve...
Read moreI want to start by saying that I really enjoy the food and have had good experiences at this chain in the past. However, today, the person that took my order at the drive-thru called me "Hun" three times while taking my order. This is not a great way to speak to customers - I would much rather be called "ma'am" as that shows respect. "Hun" is what my significant other calls me, not a stranger at a fast food restaurant. I would also like to comment on the tea. This is the second time in a row that I have ordered "unsweetened tea" from this location and both times I have received sweet tea. Unfortunately, I did not receive a receipt, just the ticket taped to my food that showed my order - and all that said was "tea". If you are going to offer both sweet and unsweetened tea, you need a better way to distinguish between the two. This tea is so sweet I cannot drink it - which leaves me with two questions/comments: either they just serve everyone sweet tea that orders tea OR their sweet tea must be so incredibly sweet that only Elf can drink it. Four stars because the food is good - the coleslaw is super creamy, fries and strips are crispy, and the Canes sauce is always good - just wish the service and beverage...
