Ordered from Wise Guys in Johnston last night. The person who took my order was very nice and quoted us 30 minutes for our order (a salad, some sandwiches, apps and a small pizza). About 47 minutes I called to check on the status of our order. Note I did not call really to complain but because I have had issues with other restaurants and food service messing up our address. She told me she was sorry and they were just packing it up then - okay no problem. Then I waited another 30 minutes - nada. Called again to make sure it was still on the way, she said she would call the driver to find out and get back to me. She didn't, but the food arrived about 5 minutes after. The driver was RUDE. Handed me the receipt and the food. I told him I was paying by card and was told he had a device. He acted as if he didn't until I asked again. Then he shoved it in my direction but not until he clicked the 20% tip button. At that point I asked him if anything was taken off the bill because we waited over an hour. He rolled his eyes. I adjusted the tip and paid the $97 for our order. Now the food - everything including the salad was over cooked to burnt but cold at the same time. While it does take a certain amount of talent to burn salad, it takes even more to have food be burned and cold at the same time - whoa. We had a tuna sandwich, and two chicken sandwiches. All of them had MINIMAL MEAT but a whole lotta bread and veggies. The pizza was black - we ordered half olives which translated to "one heaping table spoon". It looked as if they were placed by accident. This was not at all worth close to $100 dollars. Seriously Wise Guys?!?! Do NOT order from here, go somewhere else even if you have to pick it up. And to the nice person working the phone, find another job at a place that is deserving of your skills -...
Read moreWanted to give it a try because it was a new place in town. Was very disappointed. Ordered a Italian grinder(the boss), white pizza (the good mother) , and a barbecue chicken calzone. The sandwich was drenched in a very strong Italian dressing ( I believe Ken's Robust Italian to be exact) I could not even taste anything else. Couldn't even scrap it off the soggy bread. Very small amount of meats in it as well. The bbq chic calzone was ok. The breaded chicken was a little strange. Non breaded would have been better. Bbq sauce was a bit too sweet and at times overpowering. I didn't not try the white pizza but my husband said it was pretty good but the fresh mozzarella on top looked like melted plastic. Will most likely...
