Cork Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Joliet

I was so excited to go here for the first time, but was unfortunately disappointed . I will start this by saying after going to Cork I now know myself and my party are not the target audience - but I think that should be better stated somewhere on the marketing. When first waking in- I barely fit. There was a decoration and table blocking party of the entry way so since I am a larger person (US size 18) I immediately felt uncomfortable since it was hard getting in the space. We had a wheelchair user in our party & stated in the reservation we needed a low top table, among arriving we were told they haven’t had low tops for months (a simple message to our party letting us know ahead of time would have been great) and instead we ended up sitting at a coffee table with folding chairs. Not to mention there also was not enough room for us even if we had sat at a high top table. There were also issues getting the wheelchair in the door with things blocking the entrance. Food took an hour and a half to come out and was burned when we got it. The menu did not accurately state what was in food. Ultimately- I would not recommend this place for those who are going for just the food, who are larger, who have physical disabilities, or who for any reason can not sit at a high top table.

However, the vibes are immaculate & I loved the decor and my drink! For those who are skinny or average sized and able-bodied this place is probably perfect! Just unfortunately did not go...

Im new in town and I must say, amazing place, just what ive been looking for. Still needs some minor touches. Maybe some minor changes to food menu, spice creativity in your cocktails and liquors, and widen up the wine varietal. But as you can see, im giving a 5star rating. Ive visited two days in a row. Kaila kiara, (sorry for misspelling) she's what the new service industry needs, great service, charming, fun and hungry to learn. Nick, amazing, knowledgeable, good service, even when he was very busy, never dropped his great attention to detail. Charcuterie plate, phenomenal. Wine flights, please keep them coming. Hummus, right in the spot. Those spicy mezcal margaritas, just what I needed but they would've been better with a wider variety of mezcals. Excellent service from both of them. Excellent product, my new to go bar during my time in Joliet. Keep it up. Looking forward for...

This bar has a good atmosphere, but that does not matter if the customer service is not good. Let’s start with our reservation that we had, we specifically requested the couch area and that was packed. They placed another party there and we got there on time. What’s the point of reserving a spot and not filling it with the correct party. We had the manager tell us we would have the area in about 1 hr but that party stayed the whole night. The drinks are very expensive for how much you actually get. The bartenders are not so friendly, and they seemed understaff. The only good thing is what happens behind the kitchen, the food is great and selection is good too. Don’t want to come back and be disappointed for not being able to sit our party.
