I was soooo excited to have a Harold’s near me but unfortunately I have to say I won’t be returning….$14.05 is insane for a 5 piece wing, fries and pitiful cup of coleslaw, when downtown it’s 8.99. (Not to mention they were stingy with the fries and mild sauce)(Also it’s like the tax on the meal is higher than usual. I don’t know how much they’re taxing but I do know 8.75% is usually standard.) . Don’t get me started on the service, I came in on opening day and not only did they NOT have a card reader and were accepting payments through CASHAPP, but me and others in the front could hear arguing and yelling in the back. I also had waited 30+ minutes for my food. All of these reviews are consistent with the same exact complaints. The timing, service and pricing….and they aren’t lying. I don’t expect them to stay in business long, you’d be better off hoping on the train and getting Harold’s from DT and you’d STILL be saving money. Also, their responses to good vs bad reviews is day and night. All the owner has to say the negative reviews is for them to not come back or find somewhere else and you don’t have to worry about that because I PROMISE they won’t. You’ve already ruined the reputation of your business in the first two weeks of being open and your relationship with the customers that have spent their hard earned money. I think you fail to realize that the CUSTOMERS is what makes YOUR business, THEY keep YOUR bills paid. Since apparently she only gives negative reviews energy she’s probably gonna respond to this with animosity but ma’am…you need to take some accountability for the establishment you’re running. If people are consistent with the same complaints then OBVIOUSLY that means something is...
Read moreThis was my first time trying this location and it was not good at all. The wings were soft and not fried well. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. I had to put mild sauce on it to even eat it. I only ate two pieces, and the rest went in the trash. The prices are way too expensive for chicken that is not good and does not taste like Harold’s. Also, be warned, this location forces everyone to pay in cash as they do not accept any credit or debit cards.
Updated to include response to owner: I think part of the problem is that you don't understand that you need customers to run a successful business. As a new business in the area, you should value the feedback you receive so you can improve your product and services. I have eaten at Harold’s chicken before, and you missed the mark. As far as fixing my food, my time is valuable, so what makes you think I want to drive back to your location to have you fix something that should have been done right in the first place? You can absolutely take whatever form of payment that you choose, however, this is 2024 and almost every business takes credit and debit cards as well as other forms of electronic payment. Good luck keeping customers with that attitude. I hope you have a blessed...
Read moreHaving grew up in Chicago and on Harold’s, the taste and seasoning was on point. Bravo!👏 Let’s discuss the payment…I would have rather waited for you guys to have your cash register in place before you opened. We could have waited for that, particularly since everyone doesn’t carry a lot of cash around. Next,…let me tell you again, the original taste of Harold’s Chicken is in your chicken. I don’t care what anyone says about that. Harold’s Chicken didn’t need lemon pepper on its chicken back in the day and it does not need it today, as much as we all love lemon pepper. I want Harold’s original taste and this place has it. Continue preparing it like you did on the evening of May 4th. Outstanding job!!! Unfortunately, the bad part is your prices. Fix that because no should pay $14 for 2 pieces of chicken, fries, and 2 tablespoons of cold slaw. That’s a huge turnoff for me, so it will be a while before I visit your location. You currently have the highest prices…from the South suburbs to Chicago…your prices need to be fixed. The Aurora location use to have your flavor and quality, but that had gone down in the last few years. Believe me, this location can prepare chicken like the original Harold’s Chicken! If you know, you...
