As soon as you walk in you can tell that this is a family owned restaurant. There are many similar types of Chinese and Thai restaurants with casual environments that I’ve seen around the country.
One way to tell if it’s a family restaurant is to look at the back table. You usually see a bunch of personal belongings. Meaning, usually the family kids do their homework over there after school or a family member working there chills out while not working 😄.
The great thing about restaurants like these is that they also treat you like family and not just a customer. Much more casual, relaxed and friendly environment.
This particular establishment sells not just food but also clothes clothes, jewelry and other Chinese paraphernalia that you will find around the main entrance.
The owner is a nice guy. Very straightforward and to the point (cracking sly jokes in between 🤓).
We got Mongolian beef which was a little sweet, homestyle made. I would recommend getting it.
Also got lucky bamboo chow fun which is noodles and combination of chicken, beef and shrimp. That one was decent tasting.

Read moreWe came in with our two young children for a lunch out (something we don’t always do, but they have been wanting noodles and to go out, so we thought we would give this a try). The customer service was absolutely deplorable.
I asked for a small order of fried rice for our TWO year old and they kept telling me that wasn’t possible, only a large order unless we ordered to-go (Which made us feel unwelcome).
Then we asked if our daughter (4) could have lo mein noodles with tofu instead of chicken and they refused to put tofu in it (even though we would have paid more for a substitution). They have tofu on the menu so I just don’t understand this. Do they pre-make this and aren’t willing to adapt?!
Also no changing tables in the bathroom.
The server just didn’t seem to care about accommodating at all and only looking to make a bigger sale with a larger order.
Anyway, we walked out without ordering and unfortunately won’t be back as this was such a...
