So the food is delicious, and isn’t unreasonably priced. The problem is their absurd cash only policies. It’s one thing to inconvenience your customer base by not accepting credit cards—that’s already sketchy enough on its own and screams dishonesty. If you make the mistake of going into this restaurant with a group of people or with coworkers, the manager is too lazy to accept separate cash payments for each respective entree at the register and provide accurate change. So essentially, if you do not happen to have the exact cash amount on your person, for your dish, they will not give you change. If your dish is $10 and you have $20, they won’t give you your $10 change. The twenty is counted toward the group payment. The manager, and I quote, ā€œexpects 1 person to cover the entire bill.ā€ That is the most ridiculous and lazy business practice I have ever seen. A business worth it’s salt, ought to accommodate customers by providing change. If I am providing the cash (and I don’t mean $100s for $25 food bills) because I am already inconvenienced (I have to pay a bank charge to eat there if I use their atm, and they don’t provide change and they openly don’t give a damn). So, the food isn’t expensive, but their incompetence and unwillingness to do good business is. A place worth it salt, better be able to reciprocate by providing change to each customer. It literally requires a calculator and providing some change. Check it as many time as you need to, good thing math only has one right answer. The manager doesn’t want to do that, and it’s incompetence. I will go somewhere that is honest, transparent, doesn’t seem to want to get over on people so that they may or may not lie about the revenue brought it—a place that actually has the means to do...

Staff was very prompt to ask us what we wanted to eat. We hadn’t even looked at the menu yet. We had never been to this restaurant, not like we were regulars. We were still looking and I think the server got done asking he approached about 3 times in under 10 minutes. Finally he never came back. A lady then took out order and when my husband asked if the rice had corn in it (he cannot eat corn kernels) she said yes so we asked for a side of rice so he could pick the kernels out himself and asked her not to add it to the burrito thinking it had corn. We got our burritos and the rice had no corn in it, and the burrito had rice in it. She didn’t have the right information of the food offered and didn’t make not to not put rice into the burrito. If my husband had bit and ate the corn kernels he could have had a digestive flare up. He can eat corn products but not the kernels due his digestive illness. Luckily there was no kernels, but we unnecessarily ordered the side of rice. Also we were not given forks. I know that burritos don’t require utensils but when the fillings fall out it’s nice to have something to pick up food with instead of your fingers. Also nothing to grab the pickled carrots with. We did use our fingers. I don’t know the food was decent, flavor was decent but once the food was served and bill slapped on the table I felt forgotten about. I felt the service...

The food was amazing, I highly recommend the Al Pastor! Also don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions as they make great recommendations on drinks and food.

You can tell the owner Scottie is very passionate and hands-on about this restaurant. Not only did I see him going table to table greeting guest individually but the cleanliness of the restaurant inside and outside showed the level of care they put into not only the food but the place as a whole. Scottie was on top of everything helping his staff, and making sure everyone was having a great experience at his restaurant. It was refreshing to see an owner who cares and strives to do better in the restaurant business. He is a very personable person who believes in having face to face conversations with his customers.

This is a gem in the area of Joliet. Sure there is plenty of Mexican restaurants in the area but not with the level of service you’ll receive here. I applaud Scottie for being one of the best restaurant owners I’ve seen in a...

Decided to try this place on a whim and absolutely loved it! My go-to is always chorizo tacos which were very good and packed full, and the hubby really enjoyed his burrito, which was HUGE!!! Their pickled carrots were one of the best that I've had and their horchata is super good! Would definitely come here again!!! EDIT: We've been back multiple times because they seem to be one of the few mexican restaurants that are open on Sundays, and of course we're always craving mexican on Sundays! lol We actually just met the owner and his son, whom are incredibly awesome! He got us to try their house special Al Pastor tacos, which I think I have found my new favorite there! And their rice pudding is sooo good! This place has become one of our favorite mexican restaurants to where we drive almost 40 minutes just to eat!! MUST TRY!!!

I wanted to like it but the taco meat "steak" had a lot of gristle in it. Like sixty to seventy percent of the meet was Gristle, very disappointing! not much Quality Meat! very chewy and the price was not cheap. And the tortillas were chewy as well. The rice was dry, and the bean portion was very small. Now, this is during a Saturday lunch time mid-afternoon visit. It was a good crowd there. I can only assume the customer base is willing to accept poor quality food, what I mean by that is the low quality for the high price! flavors were okay they've got potential but I definitely wouldn't risk going back at this point. I really don't like leaving negative reviews like this but I feel like I literally got ripped off! I spent close to $30 and the food was just very disappointing

I used to skip school to come eat their tacos during my lunch break. I never once regretted getting into trouble because it was all worth it. I moved to Colorado a year ago and miss this place with all my heart. Everytime I visit I come in once a day or maybe two times because of how much I miss it. The employees are respectful and provide great customer service, the food is always awesome. Al pastor tacos are my favorite with cebollitas on the side. They have the best tacos in town and I would say that no one has ever topped their tacos for me and I’ve been to Texas, Tennessee, New Mexico, Florida and now in Colorado. Thank you guys for reading this and eating here.I miss this place and craving a taco rn as I post this. They are worth the price.
