Original Post: 3 of us ordered breakfast meals, paying separately, & some of the food was brought out Family Style. This is the first Cracker Barrel I've been to in over 30 years & many states, that ever did that. Everything at the other CBs had been in their own bowls & plates. Here, all of the biscuits were on one plate, for everyone. All of the gravy was in one bowl, for everyone, & the portions were smaller of everything else. The server did explain that they had always served it that way, & had the manager come over & say the same thing. Two of us told them that was the first time we had experienced that, & it was the first visit for the other one. The manager said she would be happy to get each of us our own gravy, & so they took the gravy off the table & came back with 3 small bowls. It had shocked us that they encouraged customers to share while COVID is still such a concern. There was a basket with napkins and the flatware in it, that we had to dig around in to get our serviceware. The server was nice, but probably had too many tables. She brought our tickets quickly, didn't ask if we wanted anything else, & didn't come back to check on us for awhile. I was going to order some food to go, but felt it wasn't worth it. I did feel bad later for the server, though, because the other person who paid for two of the tickets didn't tip. She wasn't trying to be mean, it was her first time paying for a meal in a restaurant, so she didn't know. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the Hash brown casserole was delicious, & everything tasted great.
Update: July 21, 2021
The Jonesville Cracker Barrel owner (I believe, will edit if not) reached out to me right away and asked me right to email them about the visit, which I did, in detail. I guess they are checking into it, as I haven't heard back from them.
Update: On 08/10/2021, Cheryl Morris from Guest Relations wrote to me apologizing for the delay (not for anything else). She added a phone number to call with any questions or concerns. So it seems Cracker Barrel didn't care about my review or service. For that reason, I changed the rating from 2 stars...
Read moreWell.. to be honest. You for sure showed your colors as being a corporate restaurant chain. The server was bland yet nice. The value was horrible. The meal ok. Specifically: (1) Ordered a Sweet Potato and it was 1/2 cooked. Looked like it could have been a good one if cooked correctly. The server had problem cutting the potato because she was not well enough trained to identify an item as being serving quality. (2) Worst value I have experienced on a side salad. No kidding, you charged me $2.29 or $3.00 for a little little serving of lettuce only. It was a 3 finger pinch of packaged salad.. how can you not think people are not going to get upset over such a rip-off. I told server to get me a second. Charged me for both. Shocking. (3) Went to checkout and cashier never even asked if I enjoyed my meal. I asked for a Military Discount and she shook her head in a jokingly way saying, "we don't give military discounts". That's ok. I get it. Not everyone does. But, remember who protects your ability to sell your product and line your pockets with $3.00 pinches of salad. (4) I am a senior manager at Lowe's and we try to do more then sell home improvement products. We go the extra mile, we care, always appreciate our veterans. We are not perfect. But if in my store I had this type of situation going on I would talk to every employee and campaign for a better customer experience. Hope this honesty helps improve...
Read moreWe went to Cracker Barrel expecting the same great food and service you've always got from other places in the past. My wife's dinner was pretty good but I got the country fried steak and it was lackluster, the green beans were just thrown on the plate they usually used to come in a bowl the both of us have baked potatoes and they were as cold as the Titanic is at 12,000 ft below the ocean. The waitress we had moved as slow as molasses and really didn't seem to care whether we had good service or not. I'd much rather had the other waitress, people that came in after us got their food way ahead of us and she seemed to really care about her people. Our waitress was sniffling and she needed to blow her nose and it was just really grossed us out. The place was not busy at all, plenty of seating, a little hostess was wiping down things which was nice but this experience really dampened me on this particular place of Cracker Barrel in Jonesville. But I will say my wife was pleased with her meal except for her baked potato which sucked. And I understand prices are a higher than they used to be because of our...
