El Dorado Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Jonesville

Stopped for the night in Elkin on a road trip from Florida. Saw the reviews on Google and decided to give El Dorado a try. They totally renovated an old pizza parlor and it looks fantastic. Wait staff was very attentive and the manager actually gave us our menus. We had delicious margaritas along with the complimentary chips and salsa. My wife had the Arroz con pollo with a house salad. The salad was very fresh and her main course was excellent. I had the Topo pollo, a grilled chicken cutlet covered with melted cheese, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. My side was refried beans with three small fajita sized tortillas. Very intense flavor with no spicy heat, so if you're looking for that you'll need to make a special request. We'll be coming back this way next year and look forward to another...

I definitely do not think the food was great and certainly not as good as other Mexican places. Husband and I ate there and felt like the portions were not only small, but pricey.
