This store is in a state of disarray from the management staff down. My wife and I chose to eat breakfast here this morning. We were seated approximately 20 minutes before being acknowledged by any wait staff. My wife finally flagged down a young lady and asked if we could get some coffee. About 10 minutes later we were greeted by our waitress and finally we received our coffee. Our waitress took our order and we thought everything would be good moving forward. We were very wrong. It took about 40 minutes for our breakfast to arrive and it wasn't correct. I received my pancakes which were cold and hard with very little peach topping, but I was missing my eggs and sausage. My wife received her meal, but was missing her biscuits and gravy. I attempted to eat the pancakes, but decided after 2 bites I wasn't going to accept them as freshly prepared. They were hard on one side and cold as if they had sat for a considerable time.. I asked our waitress if she would cancel my order as I wasn't prepared to wait another 30 minutes for my order to be completed. I spoke with the manager on staff as to what I perceived our experience to be and she politely stated that this is what happens when she is short staff members. Needless to say, she was very unprofessional and probably lacked customer service training. Cracker Barrel has been our favorite restaurant for breakfast for many years, but the last 2 or 3 visits have been less than acceptable. Change in training and raising the bar for wait and kitchen staff should become a priority for this location. Potentially management change/training may be in...
Read moreFood was good, server was kind and attentive, she mentioned that she was newer and I think she did great! The problem was with the bill, we had 2 tickets at our table and there were mistakes on both (charged for a larger portion than ordered and charged for an extra side we didn’t order) so when I brought it up to the cashier while checking out, neither him or the manager could fix the ticket. They informed me they would have to have the waitress fix it. Not a problem, kind of weird that the management can’t just fix it, but oh well. So the man went to find my waitress, he came back and informed me that she would fix it and bring me the ticket to pay. He moved onto the next customer (the other ticket from my table) and had problems trying to amend the mistake on theirs as well. So eventually he finally got my ticket back and accidentally charged the whole table to the other ticket. He was able to reverse the charge thankfully. So I get up to pay my portion and the ticket hadn’t charged from the previous amount, this whole process was about 10 minutes, I gave up and just paid the extra $4, not worth going through all of that again. To me this visit was just a mix of a few mistakes that nobody seemed to be able to solve. That’s the only frustrating part. Not gonna stop coming here over 1 bad visit but definitely didn’t feel great...
Read moreThis is our 3rd bad experience at this Cracker Barrel. This review addresses this last visit. Which will be our last time to eat here. Seating was so crowded, with the tables so close together that the persons behind us kept bumping us. The waitress could not pass the food to people seated against the wall, amd had to set it on the end of the table and let it be passed down. The man from the other table finally gave up being so crowded, and moved his chair to the end of the table so the waitress could reach the whole table, amd give all of us more room.
The service was dismal. Wr didn't get drink refills at all. Until we asked (after drinks sat empty most of the meal). Bread was not brought to the table until after most of us had finished eating. No jelly or butter. My husband had to go to the kitchen door to ask for jelly.
I personally ordered homestyle chicken, something I've ordered before. The bottoms were gummy wet, like they stick together in the fryer. I couldn't eat much of it. My granddaughters pancakes were cold.
Cracker Barrel used to be a staple choice for us, but the last 3 times the food has been very substandard, and the restaurant staff overworked and thus unable to attend to the customers needs. Sorry Cracker Barrel, but we won't spend our money there until food and service...
