Route 66 Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Joplin

Stayed at the Holiday Inn for business last week. I was not impressed with the restaurant one bit. Like the other reviewer had said, poor service, noisey atmosphere. My co-worker and I stopped and waited at the entrance for a couple of minutes, but no one came to seat us. So we walked in and grabbed a table by the bar. Then we watched 3 employees walk in through the glass door from outside having their smoke break. One of them sat a couple of different customers at different tables. I but we sat at out table over 10, closer to 15 minutes, before I finally had to flag the waitress down and ask if we were going to get service anytime soon. We were sitting at a table next to the bar. The lady at the bar new we were there and never even asked if we needed a drink. The food wasn't anything special either. I had breakfast there the next 3 mornings. Only 1 of those mornings did someone seat me at a table. Otherwise, I had to sit myself, even though the sign said please wait to be seated. Everything here was really good. We tried the Salisbury steak, the kids Mac and cheese with fruit, kids chicken with fries, veggie burger, and the pepper steak. We had salad, the rissole potatoes (these were my least favorite side but were still good), mashed potatoes (favorite side these were so rich and creamy), flame roasted potatoes (these had an awesome flavor). Then we ended with the apple strudel which had a good flavor was just sweet enough and the apples were nice and tender. I'd prefer the apple strudel come with ice cream we had ice cream from the kids meals that came included though so we used what the kids...

Wings appeared baked no color on them. A bit tough, just barely done. Dumplings were fried and had a lot of oil on them. Super crispy. Served blue cheese dressing but no typical celery/carrots with wings. Good chocolate martini. Nice waitress. Slow service because she was the only server. We usually avoid hotel restaurants but we were waiting on the Blue moon 10 k finishers and had rooms...
