Memorial Hall is in need of renovation and it looks like an art center is being built in the parking lot which will block the view from 7th Street. We have so much history in this building, and it must be preserved. Take time to stop and read a few of the names on the war memorials. There's more inside in the lobby, so if you get a chance, you should take a few moments to honor the men and women from Joplin who gave their lives in the service of our country. Memorial Hall was the triage center after the May 2011 tornado. I can't drive by without remembering going inside searching for my daughter and son-in-law and finding they'd been taken care of despite the chaos. Read moreThis venue is actually pretty small. However, that's a plus as far as seating goes bc most of the seats offer a good view of any show that's on the floor. A few of the sections close to the front wall might not be as good for shows on the stage tho. Also this hall only has one set of bathrooms, one boys one girls with only two stalls in the ladies and 3 urinals and one stall in the men's...so the line for bathrooms is crazy! One other thing stood out to me and that was how close the rows of seating are to each other. They don't leave much leg room at all and that makes it very hard to get in and out with ppl in the seats.
