Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Joplin

So with my horrible visit to burger King yesterday I wanted to tell everyone how much better my experience was at Sonic. I pulled up to the window not knowing entirely what I wanted. Without any wait I began ordering a wacky pack kids meal. I then asked price and what comes with it and I'm not sure who took my order but she was very knowledgeable about price and what came with the wacky pack unlike burgers employees. Then after almost placing that order at last minute I changed my mind and ordered a pretzel twist and vanilla dish. Without hesitation it was changed. She had missed that I wanted chocolate on the ice cream and only repeated myself once but again it was spontaneous on my part when I decided to change everything. Then I pulled up to the window and was greeting with a very friendly smile and face. At this time I did not know her name but I called back to find her name was Laquita. When she was about to hand me my food I asked to add on a fry again at last minute. She immediately advised the cooks and assisted me so quick with a smile. I paid. Then she gave me what I had already ordered. 1 minute later she was handing me my fries and I asked for ketchup. She said she had already put some in there and wished me to have a good day. This type of customer service you want to have anywhere. I was so pleased and had she not realized this made my day. I have been swamped at work and dealing with a family fued at home. This totally changed my attitude for today. Food comment. The food tasted great. Both the fries and pretzel twist were a tad bit to salty but usually expected at all fast food restaurants. I eat at this location quite a bit because it is close to where I work. Today I went during happy hour on my lunch break. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to take my order. I saw 2 cars come after me get their orders and leave, so I decided to go get in the drive thru line. There were about 8 cars, so I pulled into a different stall. I waited another 10 minutes and still nothing. I tried to get the attention of a carhop, but maybe they didn't hear me. I finally went up to the drive thru window and knocked. A manager came to the window and I told him I had been waiting for 20 minutes with no response. He said they were short handed and some of their headsets weren't working. I told him that they still could have come out and let us know that and take our orders instead of letting us sit their for 20 minutes with no explanation. He offered to take my order then, but I told him it was too late. I only get 30 minutes for lunch and I had no time to wait now. So, because of their lack of customer service, I had no lunch today. Sonic has many iconic meals and beverages for enjoyment of all ages, and at a low price compared to other similar restaurants in the area. I personally enjoy their corn dogs and BBQ Chicken, but can be hit or miss depending on service. After 8 P.M. the service is going to be questionable, just accept that when you pull up to order. I waited about 20 minutes for my food, but it was hot and they only forgot my order of popcorn chicken so I was a little upset but gladly rung them up and asked to recieve my order to which they ran them out to me shortly after. I stayed for the meal and ate my food in peace, and was back on the road thereafter. All in all, I couldn't dislike my experience for any reason at all other than my partial order, which at most was a minor inconvenience. The servers were nice too, no complains about them either.
