Updated 2024.09.04 Ordered their basic build your own burger for USD 11.50 asked for rare but still came out well done, still a pretty tasty burger for about the best price in Juneau for a good tasty burger. The fries accompanying it were more than plentiful and we split this order for two and and it was enough food to hold for at least a few hours. You are allowed to bring the food purchased into the brewery next door to also enjoy along with the beer there.

Updated 2023.02.15 Visited again, quality is down, halibut was overcooked, dry, the chips tasted mealy, needed to be refried a second time. Must ask that halibut be pulled two minutes earlier from cooking if you want the halibut moist and not overcooked.

The Wild Alaskan, located nearby Alaskan Brewery, is definitely hands down the place for your deep fried halibut fix. I did request that they pull the halibut two minutes early than normal as I want my protein not overcooked, to be juicy. I hate to pay for overcooked, dry protein. I ate at this place maybe three time a month, I normally get the large family order of halibut. Today 9/11 I stopped in by myself about 11:25 am. I sat patiently at picnic table waiting 5 minutes until they opened. The older guy working asked what he could get for me, thinking the small portion of halibut was the typical 3 pieces, I asked for the three piece halibut meal. The guy kept asking me 3 of what? I kept responding the 3 piece meal, he asks again what three do I want. It went back and forth 3 maybe for times. Thinking I better get up and look at the menu, something was wrong. As I looked at the menu I realized they serve a for piece. As I look at the menu the guy was ripping into me hurling insults and telling me he’s tired/ sick of people not know what they want and changing their minds. This guy lost all control of himself, I looked at him and said “What the flick is your problem”? He starts swearing at me saying he’s sick of people like me and told me to flicken leave he didn’t need my flicken money. We hurled the f word back and forth as I walked away. After hearing great things about this place I finally gave their halibut fish and chips a try. I don't know if this was an unusually good batch of fries, but if this quality is the norm this place sells the best fries in Juneau, hands down. I personally like them a little less salty but I know this isn't most people's preference so this is absolutely not a criticism. I can't tell you what their sauces taste like because I haven't tried them yet. This is a good sign, because I tend to only go for sauce when I feel like the food is lacking something. The food was so good on its own, I ate it plain. The fish was deliciously flaky and moist, without turning the breading soggy.
