Matty's Gelato Factory — Restaurant in Juno Beach

Pros: -vegan/dairy-free and gluten-free options -friendly staff -a lot of seating (for a gelato shop) -range of cup sizes

Cons: -inconsistent variety -served in non-recyclable/biodegradeable plastic

Aug 6 update: I seem to have terrible timing because this week's flavors are Blood Orange and Piña Colada again. I'll have to check back for different flavors. My friend loved the chocolate gelato!

Original: Matty's was highly recommended because of their dairy-free and gluten-free options; however, they only had Piña Colada sorbet and Blood Orange Raspberry sorbet (what I got) when I went. The lady working explained that Matty made everything in small batches, so it was fresh. I suppose they were just taking out flavors that day in preparation for new ones. I also suppose they have more options during the fall when they're busier. Either way, the sorbet tasted pretty good, and I loved that I could get just a little cup. Overall, it's a cool local shop that has something for everyone.

Pending another visit, I'll update my rating and review.

Perhaps some of the best, creative gelato I've had. Great product with a great story behind it. There really IS a Matty who makes the gelatto, a young man who seems to be in the store 24/7, making the delicious frozen confection. He started the store after mastering the secrets of gelatto making elsewhere, and has raised the bar with a long line of original and creative flavors. The flavors are delicate and smooth, with a rich consistency that is really top flight. The shop is a very clean, very simple layout ... a classic strip mall shop. But lining the wall are perhaps thousands of photos, all showing happy customers chowing down on the gelatto. Look for flavors like orange dreamcicle double fudge, and mixes of chocolate, mocha and coffee. Flavors for the kids abound. Portions are generous and delicious. Matty's Gelato Factory is simply the best in all of South Florida. Im glory comes around the americ someone puts into the product in business. We've been coming here for almost 2 years now and watching this business grow and grow. Really amazing. Matt truly is an artist when it comes to making his gelato. The flavors are perfect, all natural and super smooth. He really understands that his customer runs his business more than he does. I've called several times later in the evening to see if he would stay open a few extra minutes so that my family of 6 could get there in time for gelato. He always does every time. We drive one to two times a week from 40 minutes away just to enjoy his gelato. Having lived in Europe for quite a time and during that time eating plenty of Italian gelato in Italy, I have to say Maddie stands up just as good as the Italian Masters.
