Sooooo <sigh> ... my last review received a response saying speak to local Jupiter management. Manager had no interest in my discontent. So local friend who doesn't find Toojay's unsatisfactory <perplexed> gave me a $30 gift card and asked me to try a 4th time now that Covid has eased. Simple 5:45pm Order: Grilled Cheese on Rye because they were out of Pumpernickle. Asked it to be really crispy and the cheese be melted; see photo. I had to cook more at home to acquire both requests. (Why did I order out?) Second entree was Dill Chicken Salad on Wheat. Not bad but not moist enough and lacked flavor. Would not order again. Asked for no fries or silverware but received anyways. (Communication with kitchen lacking?) Best part of meal was the cole slaw. Tasty. I just don't get the attraction by true deli lovers. I would have used the gift card for the rugelach, cheesecake or Banana Dream Cake which are all yummy but diet doesn't permit. Plus I think all are too pricey. Sorry Toojay's Jupiter. I gave it 4 tries and I'm not convinced management understands true deli at all. P.S. Per my food service background, I advise the fresh bakery item trays for the display cooler be loaded in the back. Having crumbled B&W cookies, squashed danish and muffins in the delivery cardboard trays out for customers to view isn't a smart strategy. Do the tray displays in the back to install sense of quality and freshness. Just a suggestion.

I’ve been to several Toojay restaurants and I have to say this Toojays is possibly the worst… hostess wasn’t very friendly at all … food was extremely disappointing… I got the Irish grilled cheese with corned beef … 1 slice of beef and 1 slice of cheese with maybe 5-6 French fries also ordered a slice of cake and they were barely a slice each … I’m extremely disappointed in toojays … I won’t be returning… oh and the 2 sandwiches and 2 slices of cake came to $60.00 if there was less than 1 star they’d be getting it …UPDATE… manager commented on this post asking to reach out so they could make things right … I reached out and never heard back … so I’m pretty sure all the comments they’ve left as responses are fake … my rating would be at least a minus 10 now …

Went to the Toojay's in Juno Beach and got great service from Lisa. She suggested the new burger sliders with potato latkes and fried pickles on top. It was a good dish, beautifully presented, and Lisa was on top of my order, bringing me at least three refills of my Arnold Palmer (ice tea & lemonade). I ordered the Mounds cake for dessert, which was awesome. But I have to commend Lisa for being a most pleasant and attentive server. I will go back and ask for her. Even though it was close to closing time, she kept a genuine smile on her face and even remembered me from a prior visit 6 months prior, including where I volunteer. Very sweet server and all around dining experience.

My wife and I are regular customers at TooJay’s. We frequent the restaurants in Vero Beach, Jupiter, and Downtown at the Gardens. The meals are good and the staff is friendly. However our recent experience at the Jupiter restaurant was so horrible that I am compelled to write this review. The primary problem was with our waiter John. He ignored us completely. Three tables were seated in another section, ordered and were served their meals before we even received our soup. Drinks took excessively long to be presented, and refills took 4 reminders before they appeared. He often turned his back on us instead of acknowledging his mistakes. Promises of pending service were lies as follow-through on any action was lacking. We observed several other tables in our section having similar problems who were left without food, without service, and without ability to pay since it took him forever to produce the checks and then forever again to cash people out. We were en route up the coast to Vero Beach, and this stop added an extra hour and a half to our trip instead of the 30 minutes we were accustomed to at this restaurant. The next problem was encountered when we spoke with the hostess. We politely suggested that if John was [obviously] overwhelmed, she should seat people in other sections. She acknowledged our suggestion, but then ignored it, seating 3 gentlemen in our section about 5 minutes after the conversation. It's hard to place all the blame on the staff when the problems were likely due to an underlying problem in management. If management doesn’t care about the customers, why should the hostess and/or wait staff? Following this disaster of a meal, my wife went to speak with the manager. She explained all of the problems we encountered. All she received in reply was, “I’m sorry.” She didn’t acknowledge the problems as problems, and relayed no plan to remedy anything. Until they have a clean flush of current management and staff and revise business practices at this restaurant, we will no longer be going to the Jupiter restaurant. As I said in the beginning, we enjoy the food and staff at the other restaurants, so we will probably continue to frequent them. But based on this experience, upper management should consider closing the Jupiter restaurant until such time that it could be brought into alignment with the...

I've been a patron of Toojays for over 20 years and have always loved them, regardless of the location! I must admit that before COVID, we ate there an average of 3 times a month. Since COVID, we have cut way back on eating out, so it's been about a year since I last ate there. I was so disappointed to see that they've changed their menu and removed ALL of our favorites! That was such a disappointment to me and my friend, when we ate there on Thursday. Goodbye to turkey burgers, lasagna, meatloaf dinner, and my all time favorite dessert... Napoleans! I'm so baffled about why they removed it from the menu when it was always the first dessert to sell out! I use to get my Napoleans and have them put aside for me, as soon as I walked in the door. If I didn't do that, they would be sold out by the time I was ready for my dessert. Unbelievable!!! Honestly, we were so disappointed the other day. Even though our favorites were gone, we decided to stay and try some other dishes. My friend, who was celebrating her birthday, had the garlic, chicken pasta with veggies. To her disappointment, they forgot to put in the chicken! We flagged down our server, and by the time the cubed chicken arrived at our table, my friend was nearly finished with her meal. I had ordered an appetizer of Latkes, which didn't arrive until after I was finishing up my entree. So I took them home to enjoy them, but sadly, they were tough and extremely chewy on the outside. Once I sawed past the outer layer, the potatoes inside were delicious. My patty melt was a disappointment, too. The bread crust was too hard to bite into, so I had to saw into the sandwich with a steak knife to eat it. The taste was uneventful and again, I was disappointed. This is NOT typical of the Toojays that I enjoyed for so many years. The pros of this visit, were that the manager compensated us by not charging for the Latkes and discounted our bill by 10%. We greatly appreciated that! He was super nice and so was our server! The dining room was the same cozy and warm atmosphere, and the New York style charm that I had always loved! Sad to say, after this visit with its many disappointments, we probably won't be back again, and if we are, it won't be anytime soon. The Toojays we loved is history and we're so sad...

We had mixed experiences. I hadn't been to TooJays since about 2019 with my parents. With my mother declining, we didn't go out anymore when I visited. On this visit, my husband and I were craving some good old fashioned deli food, as we don't get it in Colorado where we live. Saturday night's experience was just about perfect. We sat outside and it was late, about 7 or 7:30. Chad was our server. He was fun. Plus, everything he served us was just wonderful. We had a knish, some latkes with salmon, shared a hot pastrami sandwich and matzoh ball soup. The pastrami was melt-in-your mouth. Thinly sliced, no grizzle. The knish and latkes were crisp on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. We took some pastries to go, and they were great, as well. I gave some of those pastries to my father, who almost never goes out anymore. He wished he'd gone with us. So, we went back Monday afternoon to get another pastrami sandwich and some pastries. This time, the pastrami was not as good. It was grizzly and wasn't cut as finely. Perhaps the servers cut, and some are more skilled than others? We had Chelsea and another woman helping us on Monday, that's why we wonder. Everyone was very nice, though. Just wondering if it's uneven because the servers or different cooks are doing the preparations? Perhaps more training is in order? Would be better if there was consistency of food quality. I know the chain has changed hands. Please don't ruin it. Like I said, Chad and the food on Saturday night were great. Chelsea and the other woman were very nice on Monday. But the sandwich wasn't cut the same, and therefore wasn't as tender. The pastries were fabulous both times. We hope to go back the next time we are in the area and hope the kinks...
