Today was one of the WORST days in the restaurant business that ever existed. I say this with a heavy heart as my fiancĂ©, her entire family, and I have been supporting this joeâs pizza since the commencement of their business. We have been regular customers for YEARS. The food was always good, the atmosphere was once welcoming, except for this one unfortunate night, which will be my last there. On feb 2nd, 2021, around 7pm I came into Joes in Justin with my fiancĂ© to eat dinner. The male who serves as a waiter and seems to be a relative of the owner, greeted us with compliments and appreciation for our long time / frequent Business. We returned the greeting with compliments and appreciation. We then sat down, ordered our food and waited as we enjoyed the complimentary bread. About 10 minutes later, a family came in and sat behind us at the booth to enjoy dinner as well. An additional 30 minutes passed and a waitress who we werenât familiar with walked past our booth with our plates in her hand. We immediately saw that it was our order before she placed it on the other customerâs table. My fiancĂ© and I attempted to get her attention and let her know that it was our food. We attempted twice. We werenât sure if she heard us. The customers then told her that it wasnât their order and she was so nice and apologetic to them about giving them the wrong order (our food). I then turned to her and said âi believe thatâs our orderâ because I didnât think she knew who the food belonged to. She put her hand up and replied with the nastiest tone and attitude saying âI know I heard them!â She never apologized to us for giving our food away, yet she apologized to the other table for giving them the wrong order. The waitress then left and came back to speak with the other customers to confirm the correct order for them while IGNORING us. She never looked at us or told us that she will be putting in a new order for us. I then wanted to diffuse the tension I felt from her and attempted to speak with her politely, but she responded with a worse attitude than earlier. At that point we decided to leave since the waitress was treating us horribly, we werenât getting our dinner, and we were still being ignored! As I walked out I even offered to pay for the salad that came complimentary with the dinner. The man at the counter waved us away and told us we can just leave. He offered no apology nor did he care to fix the situation. We were shocked. He completely changed. My fiancĂ© felt horrible and went back inside to say she would call later to discuss the situation with the owner who was absent, since they were busy, and she wanted to get the owners name. The man ignored her for 10 minutes as she was checking the time on her phone. As she patiently waited, she watched the man and waitress talking in a corner, and then they walked past her multiple times, still ignoring her, while giving attention to the other customers. At that point my fiancĂ© said âexcuse me could I please get the owners name?â (Referring to the other man who is usually running the restaurant). The man said NO. She asked if he is a co-owner and he said âit doesnât matterâ. He only wanted her out of the way. I have traveled all over the world and weâve lived in different states, neither of us have ever been treated so horribly and she is devastated that this happened at a place we always supported. We are very uncomfortable, saddened, confused and will never go back. Donât be fooled, they are not friendly as they...
Read moreIt took me a year to write this heartbreaking review. It was the worst service Iâve ever had. I say this with a sad heart as my entire family has supported this restaurant for YEARS. In February 2021, I went with my fiancĂ© to eat dinner. The waiter remembered us and thanked us for our support. We gave many compliments. Then we ordered dinner. Later a family sat at the table next to us. After 30 minutes, a waitress walked by with our food. We tried twice to get her attention and let her know itâs ours. She ignored us. She put the plates on the wrong table. The other customers told her it wasnât their food, and she said sorry to them. She was standing next to our table, so my fiancĂ© tried again to tell her itâs our food. She put her hand up and said very rude things to us! Then she walked away with our food! She seemed angry to be there! Later she went back to the other table, still IGNORING us. My fiancĂ© worked all day and was excited to eat dinner at Joes, we were hurt. She never let us know if she was bringing back our food. My boyfriend tried to ask, but she walked by us! The man watched this happen and never came back to our table. My fiancĂ© was tired and starving. We decided to get up and leave, with no dinner. My fiancĂ© went to the counter and offered to pay for the salad that he ate before. The man waved us away and said we can go. He gave no apology, he did not care to fix anything or get our food. We were shocked. He completely changed. I asked for the owners name. I said I will call the next day. He purposely ignored me. I asked again, could I please know the owners name? The man finally spoke and said NO. I asked if he is the new owner? He said âit doesnât matterâ. I think the man wanted to cover up the girlâs bad behavior. They kept talking in the corner. He did not want the owner to know what happened! We have been around the world and never treated like that. We havenât...
Read moreStill on the lookout for that perfect pizza place. Had heard about Joeâs so decided to give it a try. As we entered the little storefront restaurant, we felt like we were taking a step back into the 1970s. It felt just like a pizza place I used to visit where I grew up in high school. I donât mean this as an insult at all, just an observation. It has a very hometown, small restaurant feel. The menu of pastas and chicken/veal items besides pizza is quite large and for a future visit we will venture into that part of the menu. But, we were there for pizza so we ordered. It was well cooked, though I like my crust a bit crisper. Generous with toppings, especially cheese. It all tasted a bit salty to us, but that was possibly the sausage. Not going to be our go to pizza place. There is no liquor served, so you can BYOB. We will likely do that as well next time. In fact there is a liquor store just a few storefronts down the strip mall, so you can buy a bottle of since and bring it in. There are no side salads available, so we split a Caesar salad and it was still plenty.
All in all a nice mom and pop style restaurant. Actually donât know if it is or not because there are so many restaurants in the DFW area called Joes. If a chain, this location hides it well, and that I do mean as...
