I used to live in the building where Greenhouse Cafe is located, so I thought I'd try it out. Reviews were all spectacular, so my expectations were pretty high coming in for breakfast this morning. I got the breakfast burrito with no additions, so it was as listed: scrambled eggs, black beans, pico de gallo, guac, cheddar, and cilantro. They cut it in half, and the half I started with had no guac or cheddar and just a few black beans. (Mid meal, I began writing a bad review because I thought it was missing key ingredients. Then I got to the other half, and discovered the guac and cheddar and a good potion of beans.) When I finished the other half, I was quite happy with it all together. Extremely tasty and fresh. Very satisfied. To the kitchen staff: please distribute ingredients evenly in burritos. It was almost as if the guac, cheese, and black beans were on the side but in the burrito. Again, in the end, it was an awesome burrito. I just wish I didn't have to wait till the end to get what I ordered. Here's what's to celebrate: Kalamazoo finally has a good breakfast burrito (if ingredients are evenly distributed). Eggs were fluffy and light, guac was like silk, beans were perfect, and the pico was just right. As for the cheese, not oily and super flavorful. On the side, I got a few hot sauces, which very much elevated the overall flavor with a good kick. And two things that can't go unmentioned: the potatos and coffee. Potatos were cooked to perfection, and the coffee was ground and brewed on the spot. Overall, one of the best breakfast burritos I've had even with the poor distribution of ingredients. Not oily or greasy, not a mess, held together great. And I'm sure that was a house made tortilla. High-five on that! I'll definitely be coming back for round two of the breakfast burrito. Fingers crossed the guac, cheese, and black beans are in every bite. 🤞 I really wanted to give 5 stars, but it's a 4 today. Good thing Google Reviews allows updates, including stars. Will it be a 5 next time?

Driving through Kalamazoo, flags waving “open” on a clean industrial style mixed use building was my first charming welcome to Greenhouse Cafe, and it just kept getting better. Easy parking, inviting accessible entrance, and chalkboard kitchen specials boasting crab quiche, banana oat pancakes and waygu steak and eggs greeted me. I was seated immediately, in an immaculate casual dining area. With a delicious cup of coffee (infusco) in hand, I received a gorgeous Greenhouse special. With layered flavors of roasted root veggies atop black beans and French lentils, I enjoyed the poached eggs and arugula all the more. It was truly delicious, with attentive and friendly service. I cannot wait to plan my next visit - because of those tempting kitchen specials, and because I am grateful for the elevated breakfast experience I had here!

Best breakfast restaurant I’ve ever been to (not just exaggerating). We ordered the breakfast burrito and corned beef and sweet potato hash. Food took a while to come out (as all good food should) but don’t worry, it’s worth waiting for. The corned beef is extremely flavorful and complements the sweet potatoes very well. And the breakfast burrito is just perfectly put together. We got it with chicken sausage and it didn’t disappoint. They also had duck bacon as a special too which looked good, but it was rather pricey ($6). We got the French toast for takeout and they give it with REAL MAPLE SYRUP. It’s so hard to say that since almost every breakfast restaurant in the country uses cheap butter syrup. Go here and try the place for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're looking for a cozy new breakfast and lunch spot with a Mexican twist, Greenhouse Cafe is your next go‑to! Nestled on North Street in downtown Kalamazoo, this café brings together fresh, local ingredients with creative flavor. Whether you're savoring a breakfast burrito or indulging in perfectly spiced chilaquiles, each bite bursts with punchy, authentic Mexican flair made right here in Michigan.

Coffee lovers will feel right at home too—the lineup features locally roasted beans (Guatemalan and beyond), poured into rich lattes and refreshing cold brews that hit just the right note. It's clear they care about quality—from the coffee to their artisan drinks. I overheard someone on Reddit say, “It’s cute in here! A lot of Mexican Inspired foods!”—that stuck with me, and it's absolutely true .

Beyond the tasty menu, the vibe at Greenhouse Cafe is charming and welcoming. Light-filled, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for a leisurely weekend breakfast, a midday coffee break, or lunch with friends. I especially appreciate that it's women- and Latina-owned—heartening to see diverse voices shaping our local food scene .

Whether you're after bold flavors or a comfy community hangout, Greenhouse Cafe delivers. Delicious food, outstanding coffee, and warm service—all at a great local café that’s already earning well-deserved buzz....

Got a coffee and chilaquiles with chirizo, while my partner got the sweet potato corned beef hash and can definitely say we will be back!! Food was fantastic (it is now one of my top 5 breakfast places in kzoo), and service was superb. Didn't catch the name of my server unfortunately, but she was super friendly and I really appreciated and loved her positive vibe. This was our first time bringing baby to a restaurant and we just popped her in her baby seat onto the table, with no issues. We came first thing in the morning on Sunday and you could tell it was picking up quickly (ppl were constantly coming in as we were finishing up) but it was perfectly quiet enough to have a nice conversation, enjoy our food, and not feel rushed to leave the second we finished our meal.

I forgot to take pictures, but will be recommending to...
