BOO for breakfast here... hear me out.

I called the resturant to see if there was a wait. No one answered, but Google said it was not very busy, so we took a gamble. It was Sunday about 10:45 and my gal pals and I were lookin for a brunch spot with boozey drink options. We arrive, and there is barely anyone there... how did you not have time to answer your phone?

Despite us being one of 4 populated tables at the retaurant that has about 25 tables... we waited about 45min for our food. Our server did not once express concern or any apology for how long we waited.

Server said jalepenos on the dish were fresh... they were not. Pickled jalepenos are fine, just tell me so I know what to expect.

Food was mediocre at best. My breakfast potatoes seemed stale and were under seasoned. My friend's potatoes were cold. Gross.

Banana bread on the menu says "topped with butter." We got butter packets on the side of our room temp amd dry banana bread. WTF.

Server didn't even ask us how our food was. Please act like you care about our dining experience! Even if you can sense that your table is unhappy.... you should still check in on them. Try to make it better.

I guess I can see why it was so slow in there. The menu talks a big game that they can't seem...

Updated review January 2019: we want back here over New year's with my family and we were sorely disappointed. They cannot keep a consistent menu. Most of their old VEGAN OPTIONS ARE GONE, there are only about 2 items left. So little choice. This used to be our vegan go to in kzoo... Not anymore. The pasties are also made differently now and they no longer have the delicious side salad with the raspberry dressing. Very disappointed. Nothing ever the same here when we go each time. Feels like it will fail as a restaurant if they don't get more consistent. You will continue to disappoint what were once your loyal return customers.

Old review, Jan. 2018: The quality of food and service has gone down, while prices have gone up. They now charge you for gravy with your pasty when it used to come with it for free, and they don't include the side salad at all!! That was the only thing my mom and I ever ordered when we went so now it is pretty much ruined for us and our family won't be going back anytime soon unless they make the pasties worth...

Old Dog hosted and catered a private buffet for my sister Lynn's memorial. The band, Hired Hands, was amazing, and Old Dog went out of their way (Amy and her hubby and staff) to make us all feel welcome. Amy and her hubby presented us with a beautifully arranged and very tasty buffet, with something for every dietary need and goodies too!

I can't say enough good things about my, and my family's, and my late sister's and my friends', enjoyment at the event. It was not rowdy and it was not "bar room"...it was just what my sister had asked for: Texas 2 step dancing, good food, family and friends.

I would not hesitate for a moment to book another private event of any type, at Old Dog. They went above and eyond to make our final farewell to my sis, one of remembrance, joy, and so much love. It did much to wipe away some of my tears

And let me not forget to add that pricing g was more than fair.

THANK YOU AMY AND EVERYONE AT...

I went for the Kalamazoo Irish Fest. Really liked the outdoor stage and set up. The bartenders outside were wonderful. We went inside to order food and I understand it was probably much busier than usual for them. It took almost an hour for us to get our food. There were people that ordered after us getting their food (same thing we had ordered) before we got our food. The process seemed a little unorganized. Once we got our food it was very good.

If you are looking for a dog-friendly restaurant, look no further. Both Maisie and I were welcomed warmly on New Year's Eve. I enjoyed some appetizers and an old-fashioned cocktail on the patio. Staff was friendly and welcoming both to me and my dog. It was the perfect spot for us. We will definitely return. The food was good atmosphere was great. If you want a great experience going out with your pet. I highly recommend this place! :-)

This is a great place to hang out with friends. It has exposed brick walls and old hardwood floors. The bars are old carved wood. They have a good selection of bourbons and beers. There is a nice open outdoor seating area too. I remember this place when it was Kraftbrau. If you are looking for a good time, stop in with some friends. This is a great historic Kalamazoo building.
