I am not, as a rule, a fan of McFood. The last time I had a steady relationship with a Big Mac was 1999. No kidding. Many moons later, my son is nearly eighteen and the McDonald's on Stadium was the first to open their dining room for counter ordering/takeout a few months ago...and a handful of sausage biscuits plus a bonus Happy Meal toy (yes, my teen loves the toys still) makes a cheap, easy breakfast now and then when I feel flattened by the day before ten a.m. rolls over me. Another detail-the driver's side window on my trusty old(er) car needs a new power switch. This is a cheap and easy fix, however I fully cop to being too lazy to order the part and install it-so being able to walk to a counter and order is a huge bonus. Each of the half-dozen times I have walked in and gotten food here the staff has been prompt, friendly, accurate. By the third time I came in to order, both managers remembered my name, my teen son's name and that he would want a boys Happy Meal toy-a sweet, unexpected surprise in this current climate of impatient, largely impersonal interactions. This last experience was the best. I ordered my usual food and the toy. When the bagger went to grab a toy, she could only find boxes of Disney princesses. She called a manager over, two more large boxes sliced open-all Cinderella. I told them I did not want to take up their time unnecessarily (there were dozens of backed-up drive-thru orders) and that I could leave without a toy. Over the following ten minutes two managers and a supervisor had gone into their back storage room, opened and dug through four large vendor shipping boxes full of toys until they found the one and only toy meant for a boy. It was handed to me with big grins and warm thank-yous for my repeat business. Thank you to the staff of this location for going above and beyond, proving that simple human kindness can come from anywhere-even the...
Read moreIf i could rate this a zero i definitely would. First complaint is chicken nuggets are always overly fried not sure if they need to change the oil n which they use to fry but my kids never wanna eat them when i buy. Usually the staff is excellent but the last month ive paid for more food then i receive in my bag which is so irritating because who wants to drive all the way back after getting home. But that's my fault so just a HEADS UP ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK REGARDLESS IF THEY SAY THE FOOD IS IN THERE. ALWAYS. Make sure you get your reciept as today i just happened not to gave the cashier at window who was very nice the exact change n just didnt think i would need the reciept. Get my food and as i quickly glanced. In the bag the lady who gave me the food was very pushy as to letting me know everything was in there and even repeating back my order. Oh and the place was literally empty i was the only one in line. Got back home and i was missing a sandwhich. Called and talked to manager and she told me if i didnt have reciept there was nothing she could do even tho i was literally there. I asked her could she please reprint reciept i had just spent $20 with them. She then told me she was to busy and she would call me back when she could using the number that was on the caller id. Hahaha.. So i went back up there once again how busy could she have been when there was only 1 person in the drive thru. When i told the gentleman at the window what happened he said that all she had to do was come ask him.. Ridiculous.... Oh did i mention she gave me the sandwhich that had been sitting there that i was originally supposed to get...
Read moreThere is an expectation when you go to McDonalds. You understand that you're not going to a high end resturaunt, you understand that you are going to get your food, and you understand that the service will not be at it's highest. Although, this McDonalds in particular is regularly known as a laughingstock and delivers criminally offensive service, food, and more.
Other McDonalds around the primary Kalamazoo area like Main St. and the one in downtown are known as the places to go if you want your regular burger and fries. They do a good job at it, but for residents of the area, they would expect that McDonalds will provide the same product as others. Again, there is an expectation. I don't understand why the entire existence of this specific chain has gone so downhill in it's quality of staff, service, and product, but it's way too out of hand. We all have so many stories of going to this location and receiving the most disappointing experience of any type of establishment.
There needs to be quality control, there needs to be better regulations, there needs to be better staff.
To the manager: If you've read through my review, I hope you know that I am incredibly disappointed with not only the people you've chosen to work at the location, but also the lack of care to make sure that the store generates revenue to stay open. There is no excuse for a place to get this bad even if it's people who are younger. Take more control of your staff, create incentive to want to work, and establish a positive work environment so you don't get employees throwing food at customers or not showing...
