We hosted a birthday party here and the communication was terrible. They didn’t have their schedule for may out, on the first of may. I had to call multiple times and talk to multiple people. Eventually one person wrote down my information and the day and time I wanted to have the party. I asked her if it was confirmed enough that I could go ahead and send out my invitations and she said yeah of course and that someone would call me the following week to talk about food. No one called me but I called and left messages twice. A week before the party I went in there to make sure I was on the calendar because no one had called me regarding the food. A different lady looked up my party information and I was still on a sticky note and not in their reservation book. Fortunately she was able to confirm my party and actually write the reservation down however she told me that the start time I had chosen was not in the time slots they offer. No one mentioned this the multiple times I stopped in or called. She said the manager was easy going and that it was probably okay. She took my food order for the 12 kids and when I wanted it ready everything was set. On the day of the party they had misplaced the food order and nothing was ready. The game cards are timed and start when you first swipe them. I asked for the food to be ready at noon because I wanted the kids to be able to eat before they used their cards so the game time wasn’t being wasted. We had to wait over 30 minutes for all the food to be ready. This is important to note because you only get the party room for two hours and during my first phone call with them they said I could not rent the room for longer. Some of the personal pizzas were burnt and they did remake them. When I was given the game cards I told the woman that only 10 of the 12 kids showed up and asked if I could return the two that were never swiped. At the time she said yes and then at pay time she changed her mind and said no. Out of the 12 cards, two of them were not used and 9 of them worked. When I told the host lady that one wasn’t Working she took it to exchange and never came back with it. At pay time I asked about the birthday cookie we were supposed to get with the party package and the birthday kid goodie bag. She told me they need to change their sign because they don’t do that anymore and that she would take it off the bill. I’m not sure how much she valued the cookie and took off because it was still about $504 including their required gratuity. Which really sucks considering this is one of the few places to have a kids birthday party in the valley. Totally fine if you are last minute winging your party but if you’re a planner like me who wants everything in order before D day then I would avoid this place. Also the party room comes with a private bathroom, yay, it was out of order the first day I went in to see the room before I planned the party and still out of order two...
Read moreGreat games! Shockingly EXPENSIVE! Bad Card Readers!
I took my son to Games N Taps on Saturday 1/28/2023. I understand that the weekends are going to be busy, but having only one machine to buy or top up your game card meant there was a line out the door and about a 20 minute wait just to get a card. I think most shockingly though was how expensive the games are and how short the play times are configured on all games! Yes this is a new (and much needed) cool place to take the kids, but when comparing the costs to other arcades in the area, this was on another level! $2 for 2 skee ball shots! $1.5 for EACH plinko ping pong ball, $4 for air hockey, and $6 for my son and I to play a 2 lap Mario game (less than one minute of game play). Skills games in the area are $1-2 for 3 tries, here it's $1.50-$2 for EACH try. $2 and it's over in LITERALLY 5 seconds. It's very obvious that the owners are trying to profit by taking advantage of first time customers. I really do not believe this is a good long term strategy as this will end up being a RARE treat rather than a regular fun afternoon out. I would have been happy to spend $40-$60 here every few weeks for decent value, but I will not be returning purely due to the money gouging prices. I spent $60 in less than an hour, and most games we had to wait for our turn! I cannot imagine many parents coming here regularly. For comparison I can take both my kids bowling, eat pizza and play a few games in their arcade for about the same price and for a LOT longer fun! Also, the card readers messed up several times, I think a lot due to the lack of positive confirmation that the swipe was successful. It would come up saying "wait 2 seconds" and then just go back to the default screen. It's hard to know if you're good and you end up accidentally swiping several times which takes your credit every time! My recommendations, because this place has a LOT of potential. 1) Install two game card purchase/top up machines, this would help a LOT. 2) Have two registers for buying prizes. There was two girls working but only one could work at a time while the other waited to use the register. 3) Be more competitive with your prices! Even if the overall costs didn't decrease, but the play time/skill game turns per credit were increased, this would make a BIG difference.
I do understand this is a new establishment and hopefully in time things can improve so I can excuse everything but the ridiculous...
Read moreI really was so excited for this place, unfortunately a HUGE let down! No drinks allowed while gaming. No adult nights, no adult hours. This place would be perfect for predators alcohol and kids at all hours of everyday?! The arcade is a fraction of what I hoped for. The pool tables take up more space than the arcade. They have no domestic beer so you are forced to buy 8 dollar beers or more. The staff was completely lost, I do understand as someone who is a bartender but maybe they should not have opened just yet, or received the proper training. Watching mid rush as the owner just stares at his staff is just a bad look he didn’t help anyone at all! Food was blah, i mean really not impressive at all. The bartenders were eating at the rail licking fingers and not washing hands Just gross! Overall what got me is the price of the arcade it’s absolutely outrageous!! I spent 70 dollars on idk what? I’d rather go to grizzly lanes were 20 dollars last. I could honestly go on and on about other things in just 3 hours of being there but I think you all get the point . PS lock the bathroom doors to the arcade because children open that door and it’s directly to the urinals. Overall on the short side roughly $148 dollars not including tips for a...
