We went here to celebrate our daughter's graduation. Unfortunately this place is not the place to do so. A party of 6 was obviously to much for the kitchen. With 10 other people in the entire place we figured it wouldnt be a problem. We had reservations for 830. They sat us at 8 since they had nobody in the place. We ordered drinks and that took 15min to get to our table. We ordered appetizers shortly after drinks. Oysters, bonemarrow, calamari. Nothing came out together. The bone marrow wasn't cooked correctly and was sent back. 25min later the bone marrow came out. We ordered our entrees after appetizers. 3 of us ordered the ribeye on the salt block. 1 odered the NY, 1 grits and shrimp and one plate portobello mushroom. All all three steaks ordered rare. All 3 came out well done. At this point I've had enough. The waitress was awesome. Apologizing for the horrible kitchen crew over and over she got the manager as asked. He came over and agreed the steaks didnt not even look close to what we ordered. If the first 2 things on the menu are steak, you should probably learn how to cook a steak! My son inlaw who is a quiet guy ate his steak because thats who he is. They took the 2 steaks off the bill and half of the 3rd. Asking if we wanted free desert?! Here is my problem besides the food. The manager should have wiped the entire bill out. We came to celebrate a major accomplishment in someone's life. Your trash kitchen and inability to perform the smallest of tasks in a restaurant you manage is a direct reflection of your ability to lead. Your restaurant ruined a celebration and you were more worried about saving your backside then taking care of the customer. Doing minimal damage control to save your restaurant a buck! You, your restaurant and your upper management should be ashamed of the way this situation was handled. So my suggestion as a customer here, do not go here. Do not waste your time or money because they are more concerned about self preservation than customer satisfaction! I hope this place goes out of...
Read moreI took my wife and daughter here on Feb. 15. The hostess was wonderful our waiter was great. The problem occurred when my wife received her $15 glass of house wine. It appeared to be a bit small so I approached the bartender and said “bartender to bartender this seems a bit small”. He said I guarantee it’s 6oz do you want me to bring out a measuring cup? I said no, I have bartended a while and I wouldn’t send out a glass with this amount. I went back to the table and then a woman came up and said I heard you thought we short poured your wine? I said don’t worry we’re fine. She then took a measuring cup and said this is 5 oz and poured it in a glass. I said I understand, don’t worry she did it again and talked about their wine glasses. i explained I didn’t think it was a short pour I just think it should be more for $15 house wine. By now the whole restaurant is looking at us so again I said don't worry I understand. But she continued on again, I then stated I am semi intelligent and I get what you’re saying, I just think it should 6/7 oz. But she kept going so we all said it is fine don’t worry, as again everyone is staring at us as she was getting louder. She finally walked away and my daughter said that was inappropriate, the woman must have heard as she stopped threw up her hand and started to turn around and then decided to walk away. We were publicly humiliated for asking about the amount of wine poured. 5oz is the standard and I was fine, we are used to more in the places we visit. She did not charge us for the wine which was nice but I would have gladly paid the money to not have an uncomfortable 5 min discussion in front...
Read moreIf you’ve come across this review while looking for a place to dine in Kalispell, LOOK NO FURTHER! I had an exceptional experience at Freestone a couple of weeks ago. The food and service are exceptional!
Bread and oil are complementary. The bread is fresh ciabatta severed with olive oil, locally made balsamic vinaigrette and roasted whole garlic. The vinaigrette is incredible - perfectly rich, tangy and slightly sweeter than I’m use to. I wish I remembered the name of the maker. Next came soup and salad, both were fantastic!
For my entree, I had the Cab Ribeye ($55.00) - 14 oz of beautifully cooked, juicy certified angus beef topped with bearnaise (+$3.00) with a side of seasonal veggie medley. Wonderfully marbled, each bite was rich and smooth like butter. It was a perfect combination of savory, meaty notes and a slightly sweet undertone. Furthermore, the crust was magnificently seared to caramelized perfection. Damn, this was one good piece of meat. Many, many compliments to the chef. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had.
The waitress was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu items. She checked on us just the right amount of times. Overall, I had a 10/10/10/10 experience at Freestone!
