Dining at Mackenzie River Pizza in Kalispell was warranted, we thought, due to the recommendations of past visitors. The decor is nice and the atmosphere fairly quiet. We went to the hostess desk and were met by a rather unfriendly girl who spoke one word, "Two?" and then sat us down without another word. She greeted everyone in the 45 minute period we were by the desk the same way. But a shining star was our server, Contessia. She seemed to be bombarded with tables but she was friendly, happy, and very pleasant. I ordered a Bloody Mary and I have to say it was in the top 5 worst Bloody Mary's I have ever had in my years. I couldn't even finish it. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and it was prepared well and was tasty. I ordered the Wedge salad and it was enormous and very good. We had for our entrees, the Humble Pie pizza with Fontina, olive oil, and garlic as well as the Pesto Linguine with chicken. Both were excellent and the pasta was one of the best pesto's I have tasted. All in all, not bad but I would hesitate to visit again soon.

This is one of those restaurants you find when traveling you wish you had back home. The restaurant is laid out, so your table does not have to shout at each other. Small,.intimate booths vs large open concept. The music selection was also spot on with classic 90's and early 2000's. The food was amazing to be blunt. The house salad came with pear, crushed pecans, and a choice of dressing. The huckleberry salad was fresh and had real huckleberry. The artichoke appetizer was the only meh item as needed, something more to make it pop. The Buffalo Mac was great and wish I could get it again. Though the bread stick could have been made fresh, then store bought. Kids loves the cheese pizza and even liked the crust. Hopefully in time they will find their way to California.

I've had a lot of pizza from a lot of places. I'm not a local, my dad and uncle are. My dad swears by this place. Literally the best pizza I've ever had. I don't have teeth, the thick crust was soft and tasted amazing. My wife got a wrap, she said it was outstanding. She almost always finds something wrong with the food, even if it's a minor thing, but had 0 complaints at all. The huckleberry lemonade drink had real huckleberries in it and was very good. The waitress we had was very helpful, super polite, and friendly. The huckleberry cheesecake was also delicious. Out front is a moose statue made from several metal parts, cogs, wheels, and more. Great for pictures. Overall? 11/10 I'll hold all pizza places to a higher standard now.

I am 66 years old and I have been to every state in the United States and every major city. I always thought New York City had the best pepperoni pizza. Well they got some major competition and Kalispell Montana at Mackenzie River Pizza. It was delicious and I ordered the smallest one and I couldn't finish it. You go to Pizza Hut or Domino's or Papa John's and you might get lucky to have two or three pieces of meat or vegetables on each slice. These slices of pizzas are overkill, they are loaded there's no space left on the slice, there's no empty spot. The quality of the ingredients are awesome. The outside of the building has a nice parking lot it's well lit it's very clean the outside of the building looks fantastic. When you walk inside you can feel the ambiance. There's a nice person there to take it to your table followed up quickly with to take your order. Woke around the place see the decor and be sure to look up they have a large boat and paddle hanging in the ceiling. There's an outside deck if you want to eat outside it's covered so you're not going to get rained on. It's very nice back there. The pizza I got that I could not finish was only $14 and I took the rest of it home and I had enough for 2 days of lunches just put it in the oven get a little bit hot and get a Coca-Cola and you got your lunch. So for $14 I got their small pizza and for me, it lasted 3 days. Where are you going to go to get pizza and say something like that. They take credit cards debit cards and cash. It's a real nice place and they got handicap parking which is right at the door. They got tables or booths just in case you travel in a wheelchair like I do. Now let me talk a little bit about the employees! They welcome you and you are made to feel welcome when you enter and that's just the way you feel while you are inside. I'm at the cook I'm at the cashier I met the hostess and the waitress and everybody was just very very welcoming. There is no other place but this place for pizza in my opinion. Domino's and Papa John's and Pizza Hut I'm sorry about your luck but I'm not coming back I'm going to Mackenzie...

Fantastic pizza, but way to busy, and they weren't using both pizza ovens, just the one. The wait time was 30-40 minutes around 630 last night and was just packed, loud and hectic with few places to sit if your waiting for a pickup order or a table. Once our pizza was done, they called out for our name, and couldn't hear him. We stood in line for a few minutes to check on our order and they took a couple minutes to find it, they had lost a receipt with the name to another order as well. Delicious pizza, just not worth the hassle to go there ever again.

The employees seemed alright, but I did have a problem with they're kitchen set up. The 2 of us are from Washington and Idaho and our health code laws are apparently better. Nobody in the kitchen was wearing nets around any hair. There were guys with beards, medium long hair and goatee's and women with long hair and not a single hair net or pair of hands with gloves on to be seen anywhere. The only person that was even close to this was the 1 guy wearing a mask for Covid-19. Though the pizza is good, next time I'm in Montana, I believe I will skip this place from that alone. It's absolutely disgusting to not cover up hair. This place seems like it could be so much better and the atmosphere could be a fun one to be in, but they aren't putting enough attention to that part of the business.

On the plus side, the pizza is really, really good and the prices aren't really cheap, but they're not bad. 2 small 10" pizza's and 2 drinks togo was $34 for us. They also have gluten free pizza for those that...

I have ordered from this location a lot, I understand they recently had a very large turnover and a lot of staffing issues but prior to that, they were very good and always smiling happy people decently fast service and always great food. I placed a Togo order a few days ago. On the phone they told me the food would be ready in about 30 minutes. I neglected the snow falling and arrived 15 minutes late to pick up my order. When I arrived the person up front had said she would have the food out in just a moment. She then went to the back where I can still hear her, and asked for my food when the cooks asked her what she was talking about. Not sure if she did not put my order in or if they just didn't make it. Rather than coming up to tell me there was a mistake she hid in the back yelling at them to make it faster. They forgot the breadstick with the pasta, and the quality of food was way below the normal. One side of the chicken cesar wrap was good, the other side was all lettuce and no chicken or dressing. Overall I am disappointed in a place that used to be one of my top picks. Unprofessional and sloppy. I would have been happy to wait for my food had she come up and just told me what had happened rather than giving me the quickened version of the order that was...
