MamaSue’s Cookie Jar — Restaurant in Kane

I go here regularly, usually on the weekends because she's got early hours but is open on Saturday! In the winter time, the soups are wonderful and the warmer seasons bring cold salads. I love the chicken salad and have never eaten anything I don't love yet! My favorite cookies are the Hello Susan's, a unique twist on oatmeal cookies, but the peanut butter cookies melt in your mouth! She's always got something unique for the day and her cupcakes are delicious. If you have dietary restrictions, call in advance and she's always accommodating. I have taken these to work, on trips and given them away by the dozen on holidays.... never having anyone not love her treats! 5 ⭐s are...

First time in Kane and spotted this little bakery across from where I was eating breakfast. Everything I tried was excellent! The cruffin was unlike anything I've ever had - sort of delicate & crisp & chewy, sweet w/ lots of cinnamon. I find most store-bought scones dense & heavy - their vanilla scone was substantial, but tender and flaky and just sweet enough. And lastly, the chocolate cupcake was perfect! I usually avoid frosting because it's so artificial, but this buttercream had such depth of flavor and complemented the simple chocolate cake beneath it so well.

My only disappointment is that they're closed today so I can't stop again before...
