I really like this place and the fact they have a drive-thru. I am generously offering 4 stars though, It's far too expensive for what you get in my opinion. The employee who took my order at the store was very busy but seemed like he didn't care to answer my questions and just wanted me to be done ordering. I heard the car in front of me order guava juice, which I didn't see on the menu even. Their menu is honestly really large and complicated, which, is good? But I'm not sure, considering it's trying to be fast food chain, which I didn't realize there are atleast 10-15 locations in the metro. This means it might be too complex when you have low-quality employees who are just trying to work, not caring about providing excellent service. It's disappointing the menu isn't thorough of what they have either. The food was completed very quickly.
I like that the food seems to be almost somewhat restaurant quality, with the fast food aspect to it. Once again it's too expensive still. I ordered two burritos, cowboy fries, and a pineapple juice. It cost me $47. That is insane to me. Also the burritos were large but not extra large and came with nothing else, I am assuming they were around $10-12 each. Hard to say since their menu is so complex, the items advertised on the windows I don't even find the burritos I ordered with pricing nor does it pop up on a screen, so you dont know any information until the cashier just says your total. When I go out to eat, I would much rather have smaller portions anyway, and get to try more new foods, and if I want more of something just be able to order more, instead of no choice but getting a large portion and a large price. As was the case with the cowboy fries, $14 for them and it was a pretty significant amount of food, that I also didn't really realize I was ordering, aside from the price... I would've liked a half or third order of what they gave me and at half or third of the price. They were pretty. Good but for me 4 stars. I also got cheeto burrito 4 stars.
The Diablo burrito though, ill give 5 stars, I really enjoyed it, the asada was delicious, whatever sauce was on it was great, but it wasnt really spicy at all, which is so weird when its the Diablo burrito... the cowboy fries were much spicier having jalapeno on top, so was their red and green sauce packets they include very spicy, 3stars on the sauce packets tho didnt care for em. Dont seem to be house made. Sealed plastic packets.
Pineapple juice was 5-stars too. Delicious. Overall really enjoy this place. But the prices are just too high, and the menu is...
Read moreBought 2 orders of Super Nachos, trust me not super. The so-called steak were strings of meat, looked like a string of how hot dogs are. There was a teaspoon dallop of cheese at bottom. The chips were stale and rubbery, very few. Nothing good about this Nacho's order. The store location should be ashamed for selling this and call them nachos. Super Nachos!! I was happy this location on Wornall Rd opened, no more of this terrible food after getting it good one or two times. This location will not succeed, I know this from going to other new restaurants in the area. Good at first then downhill. We would go by a new restaurant and saw them closed. Restaurants are like marriage it takes work to make a marriage succeeded. No hard work put in, then divorce. Same for restaurant, no hard work, goes downhill and then closure. We expect good food each time you order, not just the first order or hit and miss. We can go back to a good location in Shawnee Mission Kansas. We're in Missouri. Bad review from me on my social media sites to my lots of followers. It seemed more cheaper than the restaurant in area, now high priced and you pay for each added item when everywhere else you get Nachos completely made with everything on them, meat, crispy chips, queso, pico, lettuce, and avocado. Need to go back to my nearby Mexican restaurant, so good and hot on every order. Been there for years, like 25! I've been here for 30 years so I've seen a lot of restaurants close, I guess people prefer good food. Can't wait to see what located next in...
Read morei was really hyped for abelardos to replace the old strip's chicken location. our first few impressions were pretty bad - dry burritos mostly. we kept trying this location and most of the time it was pretty good! definitely worth the price for the food you get. however, service is extremely random and the quality matches.
my reason for a two star view today is due to their service. we received a fairly pitiful tray of the super nachos - this is supposed to come with nacho cheese, guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, and a meat of choice. our nachos were just chips with an enormous pile of beef and maybe half a handful of shredded cheese. we ordered a side of queso and chips as well, which did not come with chips (this happens fairly frequently) and the queso tasted old, reheated, and it was super watery. we never ask for things to be remade but this was egregious. when returning to ask if they could be remade, the chef became incredibly upset, refused to remake it, and ordered us to leave.
i like abelardos when there's someone on the line who knows how to cook - sadly, whoever it is seems to only work 1/5 of the time. most of the time it's like getting food from someone who's never been trained, the food made by this person is a lower quality than making food at home. the extra star is for the one chef who is the sole reason we continue to try...
