IHOP — Restaurant in Kansas City

The friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. They are a new store but they work so hard together as a team. Every time I said thank you they responded with happy to help. Truly a very welcoming atmosphere and the store is clean. The manager there, Kayla is very helpful as well. Always supporting her staff and patiently training new staff while I was in there. I’ve been multiple times and they have always been so welcoming. Even the younger staff members carry themselves as young professionals despite them letting me know it’s their first job. You can tell they are still a work in progress as a whole but they work like they really care and even when the food takes a while they stay active and keep their cool. What makes this ihop stand out is the service and the team work. I had the pleasure of meeting the area supervisor Mohammed. Very nice guy. I’ve seen him in there cleaning tables and he is always checking on tables. My server was Sherri one morning, wonderful lady who is very attentive and has a great sense of humor. The other servers Ive met there were so kind as well. Claire who was a server but last time I came in was leading shifts and training new servers with such detail about things like brining condiments out before the food and prebussing,(they were even picking up creamer cups and opening a new one for my coffee ) Alexandra a hard working server who loves to talk as much as she does work(a lot), she couldn’t stop talking about this loyalty program and I just had to sign up, Kayla a hostess with an amazing attitude and kind heart, DK a new server who’s a quick learner, Kasey a veteran of ihop and team player, Christy who was so new when I first came for a visit to this location but turned into an all star the last time she helped me(she would be a great trainer for new servers) , Olivia a new server with a beautiful smile, Chasity a kind hearted server who is a team player and was helping clean other tables out of her own area, when I asked why she said “that’s just how it is here, we are happy to help (period), Henlie a hard working young lady who takes so much pride and really cares about the place (she was even checking on her manager to see if they were hydrated), Michelle a server who took care of me when I came late at night and was so kind to me, Belma who was helping Michelle and even shared an Oreo with me when I noticed a package in the corner, she really cares about the place and told me how she was a server who is a manger at night now and is learning how to cook, Cadence AKA Katy a new server with a positive energy, we talked about cars and how we like manual cars over automatic, Marquez a new server who told me he enjoys band, the week I met him the first time he had hair (I guess he lost a bet) Olivia a new server with a great smile, Shko AKA Lil Shko, this guy must be there bouncer and server, very nice young man who has a good sense of humor and I watched this guy clean who whole back dining room one time I went on a Friday, and there was another Alex they call Alex 2.0, a very hard working young man who was helping all over the restaurant and told me he plays sports, a server named Asia who was new and had a good attitude, a new team of hostesses that I met on my last weekend visit , Amy , Abigail , and Kali, they were all new but so welcoming and kind , I’m sure they will do great with time and patience, we all remember what it was like when we had our first job and we were brand new, Norman that was even cleaning tables with his servers at night, (he was telling me how he really enjoys working with a new cook maker Kervin), Juan another cook who helped clean tables on one of my morning visits, I really can’t wait until the next time I visit this ihop again, All my visits there are filled with great memories, some days they were short staffed but they always tried their best. What an amazing team , feels like a family. I miss...

Have had several different experiences at this IHOP, can't say it's always been the best, but it's been decent, attentive waitress, seating, decent food, etc but today (june 7th 25), about 3:00pm my family of 5 went. No other customers were in the building, I did faintly smell that sewage smell that i saw a few complaints about on here. Young kid not sure how young. Honestly looked barely 18, but maybe he's a smaller 20 year old, not sure. Led us to our table and took our drink order, brought our drinks, then he never returned... even tho we were not ready to order, he didn't bother asking. When I feel service is going to be bad, I turn on a stop watch. 10 or so min later another party (3 people) come in. Same kid comes, seats them, takes their drink order, then they said we want to just order, after he took their order I figured he needed to go enter it in the computer or something idk, then I assured my family he would be back... he still did not come back, another party (of 5) comes in. A different person comes out to seat them and take drink orders. By this time it's 330. We had been sitting there for nearly 30 minutes with no one even acknowledging us. By 345 I'm trying to leave, where my husband is wanting to at least pay for our drinks, but i told him we were going to walk out the door and drive to another restaurant and eat before they even realize we are gone at this rate. Im just not sure what happened, I absolutely LOVE IHop and I'm very sad. I'm Not trying to drive out of the way when this location is 3 minutes from my house. But this was by far the worst service I have ever (or never) had at this day and time. I hope they get some help if that's what they need, bc i know they have the potential to be a great place like they were when they first opened...

Very disappointing! I absolutely LOVE IHOP and was so happy to see that there was one being opened so close to me. Well, my excitement quickly vanished today and I definitely will not be returning. When we arrived, it empty with the exception of 2 other couples, we were quickly seated. We began by ordering drinks, I ordered a mango lemonade spritzer and was told that they were out of lemonade but they could make it with sprite without the lemonade, I agreed and was then brought out a strawberry sprite, NO MANGO AT ALL. I let it go and just enjoyed my strawberry sprite, no biggie. Now to place our order.. waitress was not familiar with the menu so we had to keep correcting her when she was telling us that sides weren’t included. As some of the food was being served to our table, the manager approaches the table and asked how I wanted my eggs, when I reminded him, he then informed me that there would be an extra charge… ok, never mind the eggs since most of our food is HERE now anyway! Needless to say, when the food finally did come out, it was cold, the bacon and hashbrowns were just overcooked and hard to chew but also cold! My biscuit came out missing key components that were supposed to be on it, the manager acknowledged that it was wrong but instead of bringing it from the kitchen fresh, he took mine from the table, back to the kitchen to “fix”!!!
