Yet another GREAT meal at the Red Door! This time, I was with a group of friends, and had the good fortune to have Gael M as our server! Gael was SO friendly, and infinitely patient with us, returning multiple times as members of our group decided what to order for food and drinks. He assisted some of the group in navigating the menu, and checked on a request for a special cocktail, and did it all with a smile. Our orders came out quickly, and he checked back to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Thank you, Gael! The meal was superb; I had the chimichurri salmon salad, which was DELICIOUS! And one of my friends had sweet potato fries and shared them with us; they were YUMMY! It's always a good time at the Red Door. Many thanks to Gael and everyone who helps make that happen! I want to give another shout-out, this time to Brandon C, for taking such good care of me and my friend on our latest visit a couple of weeks ago. The weather was lovely, so we were eating out on the patio. But a cloudburst came up, and Brandon immediately made sure the shades were all pulled down so we wouldn't get wet. Thank you, Brandon! Our food was great, as always, and Brandon served us with a smile. He helped my friend navigate through the menu, and was friendly and efficient. Thank you for another great meal! I want to give a special shout-out to our server, Alec H, who was SO wonderful during my latest visit to the Red Door! I treated a friend to a late lunch there recently, and we had a MARVELOUS time.
It was my friend's first visit to the Red Door, so she had many questions about the menu options. Alec was SO patient and gave thorough and personalized explanations and recommendations based on her flavor preferences. She was delighted with everything she ordered (the Jungle Bird cocktail and Fried Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich), and says she is looking forward to her next visit!
I was touched by how much care Alec took in ensuring we had a good meal and a good experience. Thank you SO much, Alec! You really made our day! And, as always, I can't wait to return for another fabulous meal. :-) Another great meal at the Red Door! MANY thanks to our server, Reagan S; I recently had foot surgery and was using a walker, and she cheerfully accommodated us and made sure we were well taken care of during the entire meal. She was so kind and helpful; we all really appreciate her!
All of our meals were wonderful; I had the Raspberry Coconut Chicken Salad, which was DELICIOUS, and the sweet potato fries, which were a winner, as always! Thanks so much to the Red Door for delivering a consistently fabulous experience! And yet another marvelous meal at the Red Door, this time for Happy Hour last week with a friend. Our server was Matthew F, and he was FABULOUS! He took time to ensure we knew all about the happy hour specials and were able to navigate the menu. Despite how busy the restaurant became during our time there, he checked back frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our meal. He was friendly and attentive and the consummate host for our visit. The food was absolutely delicious, as always! We split an order of the white cheddar spinach and artichoke dip, which was very yummy, and my friend had the Sonora house salad while I had a side of sauteed veggies and a side of sweet potato fries. And you KNOW the food is amazing when the sauteed veggies are worth reporting on! The mix of green beans, carrots, and squash had been cooked to perfection with a mix of spices that really showed off their flavors. And the sweet potato fries were, as always, the ultimate in comfort food. Our happy hour drinks were a delight; my friend had a fall bourbon smash, which was quite tasty, and I had a whiskey and coke which was perfectly paired with my food. Many thanks to Matthew, the chefs in the kitchen, and everyone at the Red Door for another...
Read moreCame for bottomless Mimosas, left disappointed. (WARNING SEAFOOD ALLERGY) Knowing we had a food restriction we knew that our options were limited and not to have high expectations. Our server did her best. Order our drinks because brunch ends at 2pm. It was 130 when we sat. After 10 mins of sitting our server told us that she had a large party being seated and we would need to place our order otherwise it might be a while before she could take our order. (Appreciate a heads up). So we placed an order for Chicken strips and mac and cheese. Had to order grilled chicken since the chicken strips are deep fried and so is other seafood. Which was fine. Drinks were flowing and food came. The chicken was cold. We sent it back no problem, continued with conversation and drinks. Second grilled chicken came and it was cold... AGAIN. Because our server had already made us aware she had a large table we waited a moment until we saw anybody to try and get it corrected a third time. Went to the hostess stand and they were very pleasant and confirmed yes it is cold. (Our say so wasnt enough.) So third times a charm right. Nope. The food runner wasnt sure if the chicken had been cooked away from seafood. So they took it back... again. I appreciate the fact they didnt want us to died. Thanks. But there should definitely be something in place to prevent this from happen outside of what they already have. It's not working. So we sent back the mac at this point since It started to get cold. Finally the food comes hot and ready to eat bit the skillet it came in was a different size. We were informed the reason for this is because its shallower then the other we had. Will not be coming back. Also mimosas end at 230. So even if you come before the cut off you only get them until 230. The server was very apologetic. Food came to the table at 246. Dont plan...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Red Door Tavern in Kansas City, and I cannot express how thoroughly impressed I was with my experience. From the moment I walked through the charming red door, I knew I was in for a treat.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at the Red Door Tavern is a culinary masterpiece. Whether you're in the mood for classic comfort food or more adventurous dishes, they have something to satisfy every palate. I started with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. For my main course, I indulged in the New York strip steak, and it was a carnivore's dream come true. Cooked exactly as I requested and bursting with flavor, it was a true highlight of the evening.
The service at the Red Door Tavern is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than willing to offer recommendations and answer any questions, which added to the overall exceptional...
