Phenomenal people. Great vibe: cozy coffee shop made up of multiple rooms in a beautifully renovated old house. They roast their beans right there on the premises, which smells AMAZING! Wide selection of great coffees and teas (try the Shatto chocolate milk Mocha!), and delectable pastries. Wander and browse their shelves full of books.

UPDATE: The basement is now open with another dozen or so seating areas, perfect for quiet study or work, but with sunshine coming in through the back doors which open to the beautiful new outdoor pergola seating area behind the building.

UPDATE: They have added a lot of new tasty food items to the menu. Today we had breakfast burritos and sourdough grilled cheese paninis, both of which were phenomenal. The burritos are pretty substantive, and were stuffed with bacon, eggs and potatoes. The Panini was full of ooey, gooey melted cheese and it came with a bag of chips. So instead of just having late morning coffee, a friend and I ended up having lunch there...

I really appreciate this unique coffee shop in the Kansas City coffee landscape. An old house which is part library/bookstore part coffeeshop. The atmosphere is really calming, and peaceful.

I have tried a couple different drinks on the menu. My iced mocha with Shatto Chocolate Milk was indulgent and refreshing. The espresso held up well to chocolate milk which is really important to me to be able to get the espresso bite in my flavored drinks. My go to/favorite though is the Iced Americano. The house roasted espresso here is top notch. Great flavor and frankly good enough that it leaves you wanting another.

I have also taken home a bag of beans for home coffee and that was fantastic as well for my daily pour over. I highly recommend taking in this incredible shop if you need a caffeine jolt and a quiet place...
