What a great shop. My wife and I own a coffee shop outside of St. Louis, so we always visit local shops when we are traveling. We were in KC to visit family and were staying right down the road from here. SO glad we found Sway. Firstly, the staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. I was impressed at how they shared easy and clear info about the different coffees without it ever seeming out of touch with normal coffee drinkers. As for the coffee itself, it was wonderful. Definitely some of the best tasting coffee I have had from a random shop stop in a long time. I had a pourover hand brewed (Ethiopian...might have been a Limmu but cannot remember for sure), and my wife had a sweet coldbrew something. The pourover was fabulous, and even though I don't normally like sweetened coffees, I tried my wife's and it was very well balanced. We were also buying coffee for my family, so I was able to try the a small lattee, and it was incredibly smooth. My only complaint is that because of the holiday weekend, we were only able to go there one morning...because I would have been there every day :-) Great job you all...even if we are not in the same area next time we visit from StL, we are going to make a special trip. Keep up the good work!

We always get 3 different lattes (seasonal plus most ordered in iced or hot variants). We heavily rely on the barista to help us make a decision. We engage with the barista to understand the syrups and of course take his/her recommendation on the drinks. I do feel the barista wasn't willing to engage in conversation about the coffee she was about to serve...and I understand, some folks are introverts, but if a customer asks for a recommendation or "what's popular on your menu" or "which seasonal drink do you recommend", I'd appreciate small talk. We ordered 2 hot and one cold latte...and neither of us were able to tell which hot latte was what. The syrup/flavor was missing. Felt like we were drinking steamed milk. The iced coffee was great. So credit where credit is due. The decor, seating and space is on point. Great atmosphere to work or just enjoy a coffee. There was a decent amount of parking spots and a ton of seating inside. Overall, I wish we had slightly better service and drinks. This place has the potential to be a very highly recommended spot.

First and foremost if you are like me, and like a coffee shop WITH food, I want you to know the quiche and cinnamon rolls here are BOMB! I was having a hard time finding out if this place actually had food or not, but they do and it’s awesome. They have a meat and vegetarian quiche as well! I got an ice matcha and my husband got a hot cappuccino and both of our drinks were amazing. I couldn’t believe how hot the cappuccino was! My iced matcha was definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is super cute as well and not too loud- which I really appriciate. They also roast their own beans and you can park in the back through the main seating area to see them at work! We also spent $23 for the two quiches, giant cinnamon roll, and two drinks! I will definitely be coming back!

Love love love having more local coffee options around work, and Sway is a beautiful addition! The space is simple, goregous, and welcoming. Lots of natural light and some plants throughout to create welcoming space that's great for hanging out or getting work done while enjoying some awesome coffee and treats. You can also get a glimpse into the roasting process while sitting along the bar top.

I'm a latte gal through and through, and sway has a mix of classic and seasonal flavors. Being a partner with McLain's, they have some overlap in flavors, my favorite being the bourbon caramel. However, the house speciality is a take on the honey, cinnamon, vanilla combo and is a solid choice. One of my favorites was a butternut caramel in the fall, it sounded unique and while uncertain about ordering, it was a decision well made. Basically you can't go wrong!

The cinnamon rolls are stellar! I don't know that I could finish one by myself, because they are massive! The icing on top is aplenty. The quiche is also delicious. In addition, there are a few other pastry options available.

Make sure to get a punch card -- buy nine drinks, get the 10th one free!

Several parking spots in front and to the side of the building.

My only "complaint" is that they aren't open a little later in the afternoon! I'd love to come get some work done here and enjoy an...
