Let me preface this by saying I hardly ever write reviews, but today I feel the need to as I was very unhappy with my Ginger Thai experience. I started going to the Energy Corridor location about 10 years ago, and have frequented the Katy location at least 15 times. First, it seems their wait times for pickup orders are always an hour or more no matter what time of the evening I order. I honestly feel that they give higher priority to dine-in customers, probably because they're a lot more likely to tip than online customers. Today, the wait time I got at 6:17pm was 1 hour 5 minutes. I instantly wished I'd made a different dinner choice as I was ravenous. Moral of the story: don't order from here if you're really hungry or otherwise don't have that kind of time. Secondly, their prices are pretty high in my opinion, but I pay up because I really like their Bangkok Tower Roll (the only thing I ever order for myself). Sadly, I'll be giving up my addiction as tonight is my last time patronizing this business. I was so excited to have my usual roll so I got comfortable and dug in. I immediately noticed for the first time that the two containers of sauce that come with the roll were only half full. I was immediately annoyed because I knew I would run out of sauce before I ran out of roll. Just as I predicted, I got halfway through the rolls and ran out of sauce. Now, I have half an order of rolls that have no flavor (that comes from the sauces) and nothing to dip them in. I don't know what I'm going to do with them, but I hate to throw them out. I paid $16 for the rolls and I feel the least Ginger Thai could do was give me enough sauce. I understand that the economy is bad and all, but I'd happily pay an extra dollar or two for them to give me all my sauce. Ridiculous. Cheating customers is not any way to keep them coming back. Lastly, my husband and I dined with another couple about two weeks ago because we wanted to introduce them to our favorite Thai place. Our friends were not impressed, and frankly, neither were we. The fried tofu was absolutely tasteless, and the watery sauce served with it did not help. Then, one of our friends ordered the duck soup entrée and asked for Thai Hot. The waitress asked him at least twice if he was sure he wanted it that spicy. He said he was sure. Afterwards, he said that it was hardly even spicy and the duck was chewy. Perhaps, Ginger Thai didn't think he could handle Thai Hot and made the executive decision to dial back his spice level. As I said earlier, I've been a loyal customer of Ginger Thai's for a decade and have forgiven previous grievances. However, tonight's experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. Like another reviewer said, I will be taking my business to Ramen King on Spring Green going forward. Best of luck...

Took my 13 year daughter out to Ginger Thai since she loves thai curry. My feedback of my experience below.
Greeting/Getting Seated -
When you walk in, the hostess does not greet you thus you have to look around to see what you have to do(Do I seat myself. I noticed after about 30 seconds that the hostess opens a black fold that you get with you check, that was sitting on the front counter at the entrance and calls the next table to be seated. Come to find out, I had to write my own name on the piece of paper, which is fine but being in a black check fold made it confusing on what I needed to do.
Service -
Below average service is actually a compliment here. Took 8 minutes 46 seconds to be greeted by the waiter. After ordering two water a beer, I took another 11 minutes 13 seconds to get the drinks. We just started asking other server to get us what we needed like straws, soy sauce, etc.
Food -
Food was actually not bad. My daughter liked her curry dish. I had a rainbow roll. I felt the raw fish was very thin but the taste was not bad.
Atmosphere -
It was really dark and dreary in there...I have been to a dozen or more thai place in my life and I have never been in one that was so dark and dreary looking.
Overall -
Pretty forgettable and is in need of a major service training for the front of the...
Read moreGreat service and extensive menu, plus they have some outdoor seating for those rare occasions when you actually want to be outside in the Houston area. This was our first time at Ginger Thai; we've been looking for a good Thai restaurant and I think this is the one. It would have been 5 stars except for two things: 1) a couple pieces of the crispy duck had some inedible hard fat on it. 2) Cilantro. If you don't hate cilantro - and you probably don't - consider this a four and half star review. But for some of us unfortunate souls, it ruins everything. Personally I think restaurants should voluntarily disclose the presence of cilantro so appropriate avoidance measures can be taken....
Anyway, our appetizer (chicken satay) - came out very quickly, and the main course followed shortly after. The Pad Thai was excellent, the chicken satay was cooked perfectly, cucumber sauce and peanut sauce were just right. The Crispy duck - after partially successful cilantro mitigation efforts - was also very good.
Ginger Thai is easy to get to, on Cinco Ranch Blvd. just east of Spring Green. There is plenty of parking, the restaurant itself was comfortable and inviting. I'm looking forward to trying out more of the menu,...
