Kolache Factory — Restaurant in Katy

Updated: Gave another chance and it was better. Weird smell is gone and food is better. The owner or manager reached out to me although I didn’t respond, I appreciated the offer to give it another chance. It was better! Thanks!!

Old response: The service here is exceptional. I have visited twice. However, I’m extremely disappointed in the quality (smell and taste) of the food at this location. I love Kolache Factory and have been a customer for many years overall - my fav being the spinach Kolache! The first time I visited this specific location I was disappointed- I had the special Thanksgiving kolache- it was dry and tasteless. I decided to try this location again yesterday and got the spinach - it was horrible. Again the service was great, but the kolache itself (no exaggeration) smelled like someone rubbed their behind with it - it literally stunk!!! I still took a small bite in the car and that was even worse!! I decided to just give it to my dogs who eat anything and THEY SMELLED IT AND REFUSED TO EAT IT! Now that was totally odd. I don’t know what this location is doing horribly different but please stick to the franchise protocols for cooking. I won’t be giving this location another chance. I can’t get that smell...

If I could give negative stars for customer service I would. This message goes to the owner of this location, I was mistreated and disrespected by your employee, Reina, I was called a low class for using coupons that I got at HEB, she spoke to me and my niece with no respect, yelling and in a rude manner talking to me, she refused to give me her name, the store number or the corporate number … I even tried to speak to the manager but Reina stated she didn’t have a way to contact her, which she later did after I told her I was going to call corporate; my niece was present throughout the whole scandal she was giving me about my coupons, not to mention that whatever rule she was trying to rudely follow was not printed on the coupon, therefore it shouldn’t be “enforced”, something I tried to explain to her but she was simply not willing to listen. The kolaches here are fine, but the service has been SO. SLOW. lately. The employees don’t act with any urgency. There’s usually a line of 6 patrons or more inside plus the same amount in the drive thru and the line never moves. If you want food from here, be prepared to wait 15+ minutes to even place your order. And that’s on a weekday with 4 employees behind the counter. Forget about it on the weekends.

This morning, I placed a mobile order for pick up “ASAP.” My confirmation email said my food would be ready for pick-up in an hour, which is ridiculous for fast food kolaches to begin with.
