We ordered two items of quick snack through a phone order. When went to pickup we understood the person who took our order was an elderly man and who messed it up so we have to wait a little longer. In the billing the price was almost doubled when asked it shows certain price in their social media and website pictures and why they are charging more now he said we give little extra count in the evenings when compared to that advertising.. We feel cheated with lack of transparency and hiding prices .. If it was informed in the first place we would have thought alternative about the order … While waiting and when chef bought our order another customer asked are there veg snacks (mirchi bajji) in here !?, chef who bought our order replied “what’s in that as the ingredients are around in kitchen we do it” we feel the chef and management lacks passion in doing the menu…The bajji taste was very bad as he said no interest in preparation and presenting the order … they didn’t remove any seeds in the chillies the outer batter was very thin and hard … but we had to pay more than $10+ for the bajjis which are too bad and advertised for $6.99 ..I request please don’t advertise the items if you have no interest in it and please keep the prices transparent..
Reply: Thank you for understanding and addressing the issue.. Appreciate your willingness to accept the feedback and the response… Will surely try back if the quality ,service and transparency is...
Read moreWent there couple of weeks back. Went Yesterday again and we wanted to eat same starter and main dish and biryani. They suggested to try different starter and per recommendation ordered chicken pepper fry. When he brought it, he said "if you don't like it, I will replace it" who does that ? But very very nice of these guys. The starter was really good. Since goat kheema was not available (which was good last time we went) we doubled the biryani order- Rajmundri mutton biryani (it's not on menu). It was unbelievablely great last time. This time 1st bite I thought something was wrong and realized salt was missing but once we added the salt it was yummy. The chef came out and said he will make a new one , which was not needed and I refused and continued with the yummy biryani on the table (salt less was not a big deal at all). If these guys continue like this, I am sure this will be one of the best Indian restaurant around. Crowd is not much as this must be pretty new. Decor and everything needs to be worked on but prices are less compared to others around. Last time I saw couple of guys enjoying food with BYO alcohol, so that's a plus for bachelors and groups who want to enjoy drinks with food. Find this place and do give it a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Tell them what you want and ask for...
Read moreA Hidden Gem in Katy – Spice Mantra is Pure Magic!
If you're craving real Indian food that tastes like it came straight from a home kitchen in Delhi or Hyderabad, Spice Mantra is the place. I’m honestly blown away – from the moment you walk in, the warm spices in the air already tell you you’re in for something special.
We tried the butter chicken (SO creamy and flavorful), the Hyderabadi biryani (an explosion of aroma and spices, perfectly cooked), and the garlic naan that was soft, hot, and just the right amount of crispy. Every dish was served hot and fresh with generous portions – and the flavors? Unmatched!
The staff is incredibly kind and attentive – you can feel they care about every customer and every plate that leaves the kitchen. The ambiance is clean, cozy, and welcoming – perfect for family dinners or even casual lunch with friends.
Spice Mantra isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. If you're in or around Katy (77494), do yourself a favor and stop by. This is Indian cuisine done right. I’m already planning my next visit… and bringing more...
