We discovered this restaurant recently and was happy to have to so close to our house. The place reminds me of Da Vinci Restaurant in Katy!
We ordered Polipo for appetizer and was very very delicious. The octopus was amazing, soft and savory.
I ordered the Filetto di Manzo Ai Tre Pepi. I had this steak in Rome and fell in love. It really did remind me of the steak I had in rome. The sauce is amazing so I wish they gave more of the sauce and maybe less of the peppercorns because there were a lot! Love eating the steak with the sauce.
Spaghetti Pescatora was pretty good. However, it needed more sauce and the portion was small for an average man. It was on the drier side so if there was more sauce, it would have been perfect.
Wheel Pasta Tartufo Nero was very very very delicious as well. I was pleased to hear that they had this since I tried this in Florence. I was expecting the performance I saw in Florence, with the fire they sparked on the cheese so it owuld melt. But they didn’t do it. Also, I just wished it had more pasta. Every thing was great, lots of truffle but just more pasta. It was small considering its a $50 meal. Adding some pasta will make this meal perfect for me to want it next time! But still very delicious
Pappardale alla Bolognese was just a plain bolognese pasta. It was a normal meat sauce pasta. Also, the portions were a but small too. It was only enough for a teenage girl to finish it all and be full.
Cacio e Pepe was pretty good too. But this pasta also needed more pasta. More pasta was needed since a normal teenage boy finished this in 4 mouthfuls. The sauce was good too but just needed more pasta!
Overall, the amount of each meal was on the smaller side. Adding pasta will be best! Our family aren’t big eaters but it was on the smaller portion. However, I am very excited to see that they have such a delicious Italian restaurant near our home - less than 5 min away!! Also the owner of the restaurant was very kind and friendly. He definitely seemed to know each dish well, served the meals and also prepared it! I would definitely come visit and I hope it has bigger portions next time!! (It would be 5 stars if the portions were just bigger but other than that, everything else is 5...
Read moreThis was our first time and it was definitely not what we expected. The server we had was very polite which is always much appreciated. He listed off the specials to us and reccomended a great wine that I loved. The appetizers/ antipasti's were decent nothing too amazing. The one big problem I had was with the glasses that our water was served in. I am not sure if it is the water or the sponges that are used to clean the dishes but the less and less water I had in my glass the pungent smell of dishwater/ fish filled my nose. By the end of the meal I couldn't stand the smell anymore I almost gagged. The risotto also tasted very strange. I really do think it has something to do with the water that is used. The pasta had inconsistencies in the texture. There were some over cooked pieces, some al dente, and some undercooked and most of the pasta was stuck together which I assume is why that happened. You can see that in the photo attached. I truly didn't like my pasta dish at all and neither did my boyfriend. It did have guanciale which I've never had but even then the pasta on its own was not great. The desserts were great and I would definitely try the others they offered. I also couldn't help but over hear our server joking with another worker as to why we were just sitting and not eating for such a long period of time. It is because after we recieved the antipasti's we needed just a few more minutes to decide on our main dishes but we had finished them completely and were just sitting waiting for our server to come over again after serving us those. We really just needed a few minutes not 30. It was also not busy at all at the time because he did walk past us quite a few times without asking if we were ready. I trusted the reviews greatly but that...
Read moreVentured a little south of Cypress yesterday to try a new place we had heard about with a special off-menu pasta dish. We are SO glad we did.
Palinuro is located in a quaint little shopping center off Cinco Ranch Blvd about 3.5 miles from I-10. The restaurant is locally owned by a born and raised Italian family and their friends. They opened in December of 2019, and then COVID hit, so have been very thankful for the support of the local community.
The staff does a great job of making you feel safe in the current dining-out environment, and Roberto took great care of us through out the entire meal. The staff truly makes you feel like family and our experience was exceptional.
We started with the Palinura Burrata with organic heirloom tomatoes, layered with fresh burrata, grilled zucchini infused in extra virgin olive oil and topped with balsamic reduction. This was enough for two to share.
We tried the Spaghetti Pescatura, sautéed with garlic and mixed seafood with white wine reduction, finished in spicy tomato sauce.
But the off-menu pasta dish stole the show, literally, with fresh house made pasta swirled in a large cheese wheel right in front of the table, then covered with freshly grated black truffle. So creamy and delicious—this is a must try!
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and Roberto brought out a beautiful tiramisu. Not pictured was the Limoncello Mascarpone cake I ordered...because limoncello and mascarpone...why not?! It was wonderful!
Had to share this wonderful gem with our Cypress community and we definitely plan to be regular visitors to keep our...
