Meltz Grill — Restaurant in Katy

Lived in Katy a long time, frequented a certain Louisiana fried chicken place, but never tried the restaurant behind it in the parking lot. My husband noticed it had changed names and he saw it online. Looked it up. Read the reviews. We tried it today and have only good things to say. The friendly, attentive staff, the very clean environment and then there’s the food. I had a burger and could tell that the patty had not been frozen and was delicious. My husband had a cheesesteak and ate the whole thing. I had very good onion rings and he had the fries. The manager came over when we had finished and was genuinely interested in our thoughts on the food. I didn’t catch his name, unfortunately, but he’s going to make Meltz a great place to go. Our very attentive server was Austin and he was just fabulous! All in all, we’ll be going back because there were so many yummy items on the very extensive menu that we want to try. Good...

Okay- this place needs customers- let me give you a brief rundown on why you should be one. The friendliness when you walk in is genuine- they're straight-up grateful that you came. And they know damn well that they HAVE to give you great food at a competitive price, or they won't survive the winter; they're not a big chain that can count on name recognition. They're working at building a reputation. The place was spotless and comfortable with a well-designed dining room- I'd have been just as happy to eat there and even taken out my laptop for an hour. I kept it simple- to-go cheeseburgers, fries, iced tea- and it came out fast. It was fresh and tasty- and my guess is if you ask for your fries crispy and your bun toasted, they'd happily do it for you. I'll be back to judge their Philly cheese at some point. This place is fantastic. My boyfriend Anthony was telling me how this is the best place he’s ever been to. I thought “there’s no way it’s THAT good”. Today was our day off and he wanted to take me here. WOW. AMAZING! I don’t think there is enough words in the English dictionary to fully describe how delicious their food is. I felt welcomed the second I walked in the door. They started addressing my boyfriend by name, I felt like VIP. I would recommend to any and everyone who lives in the houston area.
