Paris Banh Mi — Restaurant in Katy

Went to try this shop on their grand opening, and tested out both their Banh Mi and their Pho offerings. Firstly, this shop is set up more for drinks and Banh Mi rather than sit down restaurant, but there is ample seating available. Their Banh Mi was also good, with a crispy crust and soft inside to the bread, and their fillings are also great (spot on for the Pate). Also tried their special Pho (they only have four choices), and the bowl is smaller than other places, but the soup flavor is rich without the fake MSG sweetness. The only comment could be they are marginally more expensive than other Pho shops in the area, given the bowl size, while their Banh Mi prices are comparable to other shops in the area (though more expensive than shops in Little Saigon). All in all a nice local alternative to the long drive to Bellaire Blvd.

I went for the food, not the drinks, and I’m very disappointed with the quality. The grilled pork was fatty and cold, and the French bread wasn’t crunchy. The pork had no taste, and the veggies were fresh but spread unevenly. I only had one piece of jalapeño with my last bite, and I ended up only eating half. I decided to skip the spring rolls altogether. Additionally, the lady at the counter was rude. When I asked for a box for the springrolls and brought the dipping sauce to the counter to also ask for a container for the sauce, she replied with sarcasm, asking me if I really wanted to take just the dipping sauce. She had to go to the kitchen twice to retrieve the sauce container, and when I asked for a box again, she told me to hold on one second, insisting on handling one thing at a time, before finally getting the box for the spring rolls. Nhưng đó chính là lý do Chúa Giê-xu đến và chịu thay chỗ cho chúng ta — Ngài sống một đời sống không tội lỗi, làm ứng nghiệm mọi lời tiên tri trong Cựu Ước, và chịu hình phạt mà chúng ta đáng nhận trên thập tự giá, để chúng ta được xưng công bình trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời khi chúng ta ăn năn, nghĩa là từ bỏ tội lỗi, và đặt đức tin nơi Chúa Giê-xu cùng công việc Ngài đã làm — chứ không phải dựa vào việc lành của chính mình.

Chúng ta được hiệp một với Chúa Giê-xu bởi đức tin, và đó là cách tội lỗi của chúng ta được gánh chịu trong Ngài. Như vậy, Đức Chúa Trời vừa công chính, vừa nhân từ. Khi chúng ta đặt đức tin nơi Chúa Giê-xu, Đức Chúa Trời ban cho chúng ta Thánh Linh của Ngài và biến đổi lòng chúng ta; vì thế, nếu một người nói rằng mình tin nhưng vẫn sống trong tội lỗi mà không hối hận, thì đó là dấu hiệu cho thấy đức tin của người ấy chưa thật sự chân thật. God is perfectly righteous and holy, and all of us have sinned and fall short of His glory. Even if we don’t see ourselves as that sinful, in God’s eyes, any sin is unacceptable. Our good deeds can’t justify us before a holy God. Just like a just judge can’t let a criminal go free just because they donate to charity or volunteer , there must be a punishment. But that’s why Jesus came and took our place—He lived a sinless life ,fulfilled the prophecies in the old testament, and took the punishment we deserve on the cross so we could be made right with God when we repent ,which is a turning from your sin, and put our faith in Jesus and what He did alone, not our good deeds.
