Hanalei Bread Company is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Hanalei. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by an inviting and charming atmosphere that exudes relaxation and warmth. The family-friendly environment is enhanced by the sweet, comforting aroma of freshly baked bread that wafts through the air, promising a delightful culinary experience.
Our visit at 7 am was nothing short of delightful, albeit we were taken aback by the already forming line, a testament to its popularity among locals and visitors alike. Despite the early hour, the place was buzzing with activity, and it was clear that Hanalei Bread Company is a beloved breakfast destination.
My two daughters were absolutely thrilled with their choices. The waffle was a hit, perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The breakfast burrito was a flavorful medley of fresh ingredients wrapped in a warm tortilla, and the ham and cheese croissant was a delightful balance of savory and buttery goodness. All these delicious dishes were complemented perfectly by the refreshing "monkey juice" that my daughters devoured eagerly.
Every bite confirmed why this eatery has such a dedicated following. The quality of the food, the charming ambiance, and the friendly staff all contribute to an experience that is both memorable and satisfying. I would strongly and emphatically recommend Hanalei Bread Company to anyone looking for a delightful breakfast spot. It is the perfect place to start your day, with its welcoming atmosphere and delicious offerings. Don't miss out on this...

So I have been here about 5 or 6 times now, as my parents live in princeville and I visit a few times a year. The food is excellent. I would give it a 5 star review for the food. However, that being said, I have never EVER had a pleasant customer service experience here. The people who work the counter appear not to care in the slightest and have messed up my order literally EVERY single time. I am a vegetarian and I love crepes. They have a crepe on their menu which features ham, gruyere and a poached egg. It is a very easy fix to do this without ham as the crepes are made to order but every single time they have somehow messed this up. Either there was ham, or no cheese, or the egg was so brutally overcooked that it was inedible. Each time I have politely asked them to correct the mistake and I have been met with less than friendly service. Today, our food (a burrito and a crepe) took over 20 minutes to come up and when we asked about it we were met with hostility and I explained that it just took half the time yesterday for 4 items to come up. They immediately apologised for their attitude and went to go get our food and my crepe had ham in it and now I am waiting for them to correct it once more. The eating experience is lovely, but the overall experience has been lackluster and disappointing to no end....
Read moreWe’ve been in Hanalei for the last 7 days and have made this our morning stop every single morning. Some tips:
Arrive at least 10 minutes before opening. The smoothie bar line allows you to order anything off the menu except the pastries; you’ll need to stand in the main line (on the right) for that.
If you’re more than a party of one, have another member of your party stake out a spot to sit while you order. Tables will fill up fast.
The menu variety is fantastic and we tried much of what was offered. Best bagel and cream cheese we’ve ever had (and we’ve eaten many famous NYC bagels). The fancy toasts are generous and worth it. The fruit bowl is all locally sourced and delicious. The pastries are pretty darn solid - recommend the blueberry scone and the chocolate croissant. Overall on the food: it’s worth the price for the locally sourced ingredients and to pay their folks a living wage. You’re on vacation, after all.
Can’t speak to the coffee drinks. We had black coffee each morning (Sunrise blend, good stuff).
I tried the Chai smoothie one morning - DELICIOUS.
Fill up your water bottle for the day here by using the filler to the left of the cashier.
Can’t speak to the vibe of this place past 9:00 but the morning time is the best. The staff hustles and was...
