If Safety or Sanitary conditions is a concern - this is not the place for you. Safety: The boards on the steps and the lanai are falling apart. Was afraid walking on the steps. There was either a weak board or an existing hole in the board on the lanai they knew about and covered up with a mat so I wouldn't see it. I moved my chair on top of it and fell right through. I fell, the chair broke. I reported it and their response was to just place a little board partially covering the hole. They didn't even replace the chair. So we were no longer able to sit out and have coffee on the lanai together. Sanitary: The kitchen sink was constantly stopped up. It wouldn't drain. Having a kitchen it great but if you can't use it, and constantly have dirty dishes you need to clean piled up does not make for a pleasant vacation. I called, they came and did something that worked for a day. However, I called after 2 emails went unanswered. Other issues: No room service - had to ask 3 times for towels, and coffee. The coffee never came. I had to stop the cleaning lady with a handful of towels. Door wouldn't lock - The door was off kilter so I had to push-up while pulling and turning the lock every single time I left. Taking away about 3-5 mins of vacation time every time you wanted to leave. The hammocks look very inviting but they are infested with some sort of biting bug. Looks like they have never been cleaned. They are gross. The faucet in the bathroom doesn't fit the vanity. And very little water pressure. You turn it on, the water dribbles all over the vanity instead of in your sink, making it impossible to wash your face or hands or even brush your teeth. Ants
Here are the upsides to the Inn: BED - the bed was super comfy Location - 5 min walk to the most beautiful beach on earth - yes please. Lanai Kitty - Kalyso kitty was a great companion
I will add while the there were obvious problems with the room, it was clean. I could have lived with almost all these annoyances but once I fell on the lanai due to neglect I was done with this place. I was looking for my forever home away from home when I come to Kauai and was hoping this was it, but I will not stay here again. There were just too many issues due to neglectful management. I'm lucky I didn't get hurt. But I was so disappointed with this Inn. When I contacted them about falling through the lanai, all they said was "That is concerning, we will send the handyman over to fix it" and that is how the...
Read moreFrom the moment of reservation and payment until arrival we hadn’t heard a thing form the owner. When arriving it was totally unclear what the ‘incheck’ procedure was.||||The guest who stayed in one of the other apartments told us that we should be on “the board” if we were check-in guests, but like them , we also weren’t on the board , which made us feel not uneasy . They told us that they had had exactly the same experience. They said that the room next to them had been cleaned that morning, so they thought that was probably our room and advised us to go in and look for the key. We didn’t feel comfortable with that idea and mailed the owner and went to have something to eat. End of the day still no response, so we called her and she cleared things up and said we could take that room. This is no relaxed way of checking in and also very unnecessary and you don’t expect that for this price. The next few days we saw that all new guests had the same experience. Inhospitable ...||||Well and then about the room, the only positive thing I can say about it is that it was clean and the bed and shower were ok. But enough negative things to talk about: ||||the sink in the bathroom didn’t work very well ||the sliding door to the deck didn’t work right||||the fan couldn’t be turned of because the cord to switch it off was broken ||the ‘curtains’ nearly fell off and were almost impossible to open or close||the sun umbrella was broken, ||the outside deck and stairs had huge holes in it and looked very unstable||there were big heaps of leaves on the stairs and the deck, so you couldn’t see the holes in the deck: DANGEROUS!||And last but not least the furniture||these crazy ridiculous huge chairs and unnecessary big fridge made the appartment very small and not very attractive to be in.||The site manager who we met the next morning said the right words, but had the wrong body language (so uninterested), we came a long way form the Netherlands so we decided not to waste any time trying to convince him that things had to be better for this price and tried to be as less as possible at the apartment||I would not recommend...
