A truly remarkable dining experience awaits you at The Tasting Room. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and impeccable service. Our waitress set the tone for the evening, exuding energy, kindness, patience and a warm smile.
The menu boasts a range of delectable dishes, but the Artichoke Dip served as the perfect appetizer. Warm, creamy, and baked to perfection, it tantalized our taste buds and readied us for the main course.
Speaking of main dishes, the New York Steak Board was nothing short of culinary art. Cooked to absolute perfection, every bite was rich in flavor. If seafood is your calling, the Pesto Broiled Mahi Mahi Pasta is an absolute must-try. It showcases a beautiful balance of flavors and boasts an undeniable freshness. Lastly, the Chicken Marbella stands out with its tender juiciness and delightful taste.
Complementing our meal were the drink selections. I opted for the Grey Whale and Gunpowder Gin, both of which were exceptional. They added a fun twist to our dining experience.
No meal is complete without dessert, and The Tasting Room truly shines in this department. The Chocolate Lava Cake, with its gooey center, was a chocolate lover's dream. Meanwhile, the Apple Cobbler Cheesecake brought together the best of both desserts, resulting in a sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
Additionally, a noteworthy mention must be made about the immaculate cleanliness of this establishment. Every corner of the establishment gleamed with care and attention. It was evident that the management takes hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. From the sparkling lamps overhead to the pristine pillows adorning the seats, every detail was meticulously attended to, reflecting not just aesthetic appeal but also the restaurant's commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for its patrons. Such attention to detail not only elevates the dining experience but also instills a sense of confidence in their dedication to guest well-being.
If you're in the mood for an exceptional dining experience, look no further. Every dish is a testament to the chef's dedication to excellence, and the exceptional staff ensures your evening is memorable. Highly...
Read moreFound The Tasting Room on Google searching for a decent place to eat. Called to book a 7:00 res for two (no online reservations!). We got there a half hour early and they sat us almost immediately. The location is in Old Town Kōloa and the space is very charming. Our server was Kristine and I can’t say enough about her service! She knows everything about every item on the menu including an extensive knowledge of their wine list. We had the French Onion Soup (or should I say Maui Onion soup) and it was amazing. Next was the TR salad. We thought is was similar to a wedge, but with dill added. i told Kristen that I had been disappointed in the past ordering Hamachi Crudo because of the price compared to the portion. She convinced me to order it and I was very happy I did!!! I also wanted the burrata, but we passed. I saw it on the next table and it looked terrific. For our main, we split the Rib Eye Board. Ordered medium rare and it was perfect (Hot tip, have the chef slice it especially if you’re sharing). For dessert, we had the Apple Cobbler Cheesecake and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A great way to end the dinner. They have what appears to be a pretty good wine selection and I love the way you can order a 2 oz, 5 oz or a bottle. With a 2 oz pour, you can create a wine tasting flight. The Tasting Room is a family owned restaurant and it shows in a very customer focused way. At the end of the evening we had the opportunity to meet Megan, one of the owner/family members. Very sweet!!! If your plans to Hawaii include Kauai, I would strongly recommend having dinner there (they are closed Sunday...
Read moreAfter a very long day traveling around the island we had no set plans for dinner. We had wanted to try this restaurant but didn’t make it a point to reserve a spot. We had six in our party (4 adults and 2 children) so that’s not an easy reservation to make in general. We headed here just before giving up and going home. Lucky us… a reservation for six just canceled as we pulled up to the front door. Let’s get down to it(sorry for the preamble). The menu is limited but focused - love this! Started with a bottle of wine and the charcuterie board and this tired group devoured every morsel in the board - excellent! Three adults has the catch of the day of Mahi Mahi served pesto crusted on a bed of angel hair pasta with olive oil and garlic. This dish was out of this world! Loved it from the first perfect bite (consensus of all adults and a child that this was a superb dish). The other adult and child had the braised short ribs which all agreed were amazing as well (can you tell that sharing was happening here?). Desert for the youngest in the group only(three spoons though) it was a lavender/honey panacotta - so good. Oh, forgot to mention that every staff interaction was beyond just pleasant. These people are very kind and very helpful(you could tell they were smiling beneath their masks) - an amazing group that made the food that much more enjoyable - thank you good people, you made our night! I don’t think 5 stars should be handed out lightly because you gotta be close to perfect but… hands down, The Tasting Room is a must - please...
