I was super excited about having a Hispanic owned restaurant in Kaufman, but unfortunately our first experience didn’t live up to our expectations. Coming from a Mexican household, I expected to have really homey, flavorful foods but we were let down. My boyfriend had a simple breakfast platter and the hashbrowns were sitting in oil and tasted like they were reheated (super stale), I had the brisket omelette which was sitting in a pool of meat juices and was bland. I had also ordered conchas which we never received. I also ordered a cafe de olla, but it tasted like it was made from a coffee machine. If you’ve ever had cafe de olla, you can taste each flavor of ingredients and I did not get that at all. The service was good, they were super nice and were quick to take our order and give us our food. Maybe we got them on a busy morning so I’d hope on another occasion the food would be...
Read moreWas excited to try this new brunch spot because we flip lots of homes in Kaufman, and thought we would have a good place to get brunch daily as we don’t cook because of our schedules. Ordered chilaquiles, the sauce was super thick and tasted more like imitation sauce you get from Walmart not authentic. The birria consome/broth was really thick too also wasn’t that good. The pancakes were flat and drenched in butter or oil, not fluffy. The conchitas were never brought to the table but the same waitress brought some to the guy that had just walked in. Presentation is beautiful but the flavors were not great, very pricey. Rather keep going to Nina’s Brunch in Forney or Starwood Cafe in Seagoville. Only items that were delicious was the OJ and mango juice which is more of a nectar. Will not...
Read moreFantastic Hidden Gem! I stopped by this place on a Sunday for brunch and wow—what an awesome find! It’s a true hole-in-the-wall spot, but everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I had a custom omelette with birria meat, onions, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and avocado on top—it was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The omelette was off the chain, they should add it to the menu and call it the Randy. My wife ordered the chilaquiles with brisket and said they were the best she’s ever had. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be...
