McDonald's — Restaurant in Keaau

These ratings are based on a scale of bad McDonalds to good McDonalds. My five-star ranking of the food is not an impugnment of Michelin-star dining. It's usually as good as any fast food place, but something is going on there recently. I ordered and paid for three hash browns with my breakfast order; zero were in the bag. I went back through the line and let them know what happened and that I understood. This stuff happens, I wasn't going to get mad about it. But then they only gave me two, not the three I paid for and went through the line twice to get. I wanted those hash browns badly. Still not mad, just perplexed. You got me again, world. Coworker had something similar happen to her two days later at the same location. Probably just a new trainee; or someone got fed up and quit, leaving them shorthanded. There was also a strange conversation at the payment window. The guy kept asking me polite questions about myself after I had paid, gotten my receipt, and had multiple cars behind me waiting to pull forward and pay. Not a problem, just perplexing. The food I did get was hot and tasty, well-prepared, and well-packaged. The employees were friendly. Couldn't ask for more--except one more order of those...

Every time I go to this location, I am told that I have to park and not receive my food at the window. I inquired why I am being told to park and wait again. I was informed; it's because I had a "large order". I ordered two double Filet-O-Fish sandwiches with extra tartar sauce, one 20 piece chicken McNuggets, and a number seven. This is a total of four sandwiches. I do not believe four sandwiches, one french fries, one drink and one box of chicken nuggets is a large order. So I parked and I came into the restaurant to speak to the manager. She reaffirmed it was because my order was large. I asked her how 4 sandwiches and a box of chicken nuggets was a large order. She clarified if the order for the car behind me is smaller than mine then I'm going to be told to park every time. So I asked her if this is a McDonald's policy; because I have a large family am I no longer convenienced by the drive-thru? And she said no, it only depends on what the person behind me orders. I find this to be a ridiculous explanation the inconveniences those of us who are providing larger orders (which is more money). And I will not be going back to...

Update: 06/18/23 This McDonalds is the worst place EVER. I spent $73.00 on my order. They forgot my 20 piece chicken nuggets. So I called to let them know them they forgot my chicken nuggets and the guy told me that I should go eat at another restaurant!!!!! And hanged up the phone on me. WOW. I got so upset I went down to Keaau McDonalds and went to talk to the manager. She did NOTHING. I even showed her the guy that answered the phone he did not want to show me his name tag and hid in the back when I confronted him. She did not apologize for the guy rudely hanging up on me!. Or even getting my order wrong. If this is how McDonald’s train there employees then I just don’t know what to say. Yes at the end of the day I got my husband’s nuggets a little too late. But point fact being this McDonalds has no customer service and that guy needs to get FIRED the manager too. Never going there again. Oh and happy...
