Taqueria Los Güeros — Restaurant in Kearny

This location is AWFUL. The customer service sucks and this chain seems to have a lot of negative reviews across various locations, too. I ordered from here on 7/14 and I am still waiting for a refund on my order.

My boyfriend and I ordered the cheese flautas and carnitas tacos. I made sure to specify over the phone that my flautas are cheese only and to please leave out the meat. I'm vegetarian so I made sure to specify how I needed my food. At the restaurant, I even checked my receipt to make sure. When I got home, we began eating and our food was just fine. To my horror, my boyfriend noticed there was chicken in the flautas after I had already eaten a few. I honestly didn't taste it, but I was so upset. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to Rafaela, the woman who took our phone order. She let me know she would contact her manager and I would receive a full refund. At first, I was told I'd receive my money back in 3-5 days. I was later told I would receive the money back after 1 week. I was even given the manager's phone number. I left their manager, Lupe, a voicemail, but I never received a call back.

I am still trying to get a refund, but I am so incredibly disappointed by this location and the Taqueria Los Güeros chain in general. This place wasn't worth...

If I rated Tacos Los Gueros Kearny a year ago it would have probably been 4 almost 4 1/2 stars. Unfortunately in May 2024 I can confirm that the quality has dropped.

The food is fine, it used to be real good but now it's painfully mid. Example: the nachos don't taste fresh, they always feel like they were made early in the day or the day before (note- they used to be very fresh.) The service is a crapshoot: orders are often wrong and in person the workers seem distracted.

Lastly I know inflation is up but the prices have slowly risen. I could live with that if the food was still good- but higher prices and worse food is a bad combination. I don't know if management has changed from when they first I opened up, but this place is a disappointing 3 stars right now. I hope they can turn it around with fresher ingredients and...

Nachos are delicious when they get your order right- I asked for no onions and still got onions- not blaming the chef because the girl who took my order did not specify what I asked for on the receipt (I’m allergic to tomatoes & I mentioned it to her but she failed to tell me the Nachos come with it even though its not described in the menu. “Arriaga.K” according to my receipt - has gotten my order wrong my first 2x going here so I probably won’t be back but the churros are also good when she feels like heating them up.. read a previous review and its pretty obvious that she is the only thing messing up the service because the food is great!
