My experience here was not very good. Being i just purchased a home in kearny right down the block I wanted to getbuse to the good restaurants in the area. I walked down the block to this bakery because if its nice setting. I ordered a full meal for myself and my family to go. The lady that took my order was pretty nice, but the other people that worked there were a bit standoffish. The woman that took my order said it'll be ready in 10 minutes, it actually took 30 minutes. It was busy so I kinda expected it. But after seeing person after person get their order before me I began to get annoyed. But I never said a word, I just waited patiently. When my order was ready, the woman that handed me my order came up to me and just dropped my order into my lap and walked off rudely without saying a word. I went home and realized they put blueberries on their French toast( I think this is what they do to all their French toast orders) being that my son is allergic I was kinda upset about that. But I chalked it up to "maybe I should've said something when I ordered it". Then I noticed they gave us no condiments, not forks abd knives, no napkins. I felt like they really didn't care about my order. I went back to get this stuff being that I had nothing in my new house. After waiting online again to speak to them about my experience and get the stuff that I needed, the woman at the counter seemed very bothered that I returned to get these things. She rudely placed it on the counter said "your welcome" in her language and walked away. To top it all off the food was nasty and my son who eats everything and my pregnant wife who also eats everything barely finished their food, I was highly dissatisfied. I don't recommend this place, especially if you don't "look like you...
Read moreIt's ashame and disappointing that Vicente's, Kearny has changed for the worse.
Been coming here for years. Their price was always reasonable but now they have increased everything, but that wouldn't be too much of a problem. What the problem is that they add in two types of taxes, extra for using debit card and gratuity in the bill for only two people.
The customer always orders at the counter and someone would bring your drinks or plate to the table. At the counter there always was and still there a tip box At the end, when customer was finished, the customer would bring the plates to the counter..
I asked an older lady about the gratuity being included in the bill. Which was never included before. Her response was all that all places are doing it and I said that is not true because I eat at many places and very few do. Another lady that works there jumps into the conversation and tells me that they always have been charging gratuity and that all places do it. They also try to say that over $20 gratuity is added. Really, these days.mostly for two people, the hill is going to be around $20
This is not right to be charging the customer gratuity because you're not even getting a full service.. and some of the service that you do receive what if you're not happy with them they are charging you like 20% gratuity not right.. This is all very disappointing me and my family have gone to Vicentes for many years but due to this will not go anymore.
Take a look at the picture of my bill, paying like $36 for two people , it is too expensive. The economy is bad enough these days that a business like this should not to try to take advantage of charging so much and especially including a gratuity which is not a full service...
Read moreCame into this place to grab some lunch. The girl at the counter was pleasant but didn’t speak a word of English, she had to use a translator app just to communicate with us. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich which was on the menu and my friend ordered a Philly cheesesteak which was also on the menu. We grabbed a seat and 20 minutes later only my food came out and the girl said “no cheesesteak”. Now my friend ordered a chicken Cesar wrap. 20 minutes after that (40 minutes later) a panini creation was served to him, not what he ordered. My “chicken parm” was just a chicken cutlet with some shredded mozzarella, absolutely no sauce. The only positive was the chicken cutlet was very good. My friend got served a chicken cutlet panini with lettuce and tomato which wasn’t even what he ordered. It didn’t taste bad but that’s not the point, he didn’t order that. How can you run a business where the only employee taking orders doesn’t speak English? On a positive note the place looked nice inside and their cakes in the glass cases looked good. I wouldn’t recommend lunch here but maybe their baked goods are...
