I'm actually very disappointed and sad to even leave a negative review. I personally have been eating here since I was born. My mom and dad found this place while living in Keizer while my mom was still pregnant with me. And the original owners were amazing people and brought excellent service and the most delicious food. It actually made it hard to try other Chinese restaurants.
But now the previous owners have left and the new management is unfortunately not holding up the same standards and quality. I would like to say the waitresses are very sweet and kind ladies, but in comparison to the old wait staff they aren't nearly on top of things or coordinated. It's common for them to have them all come over at different times not sure if you've been helped, and not aware that someone has already taken your order. Also every now and then they will mix up checks which is frustrating.
The new chefs are cooking things very differently and it's now to a point that the food doesn't taste right, or it's just ok. And when the old owners were here everything was absolutely wonderful and good prices and portions. Now everything isn't that great at all, and while yes of course times are tough so the cutting of portion sizes is fair the prices have gone up quite a bit more than what seems fair.
The new management seems to be more focused on getting with the times by putting a bunch of new marketing/decorations out there than the actual quality of the food or service.
I will give credit where credit is due. I believe they have done a good thing by putting the place on door dash, but even that is a bit of a let down as the delivery price is a bit much.
To sum it up, the new management is just focusing on maximizing profits and letting the quality slip away drastically. Very sad to see what this place has turned into the last...

Read moreI love John’s usually and will continue to support them, however, they should really figure out how to handle busy nights. We placed an order on Christmas Eve, so we were expecting a wait to get the food. To my surprise, they told me to pickup in 10/15 minutes. We showed up about 15 minutes after our phone call and it’s packed, naturally. Not one person greeted us or acknowledged us entering. We just joined the herd inside. People were coming in for reservations and being told they were closed now. Long story short, we waited an additional hour for our food. Then our order was wrong. We just needed our bbq pork. I was told by “the manager” that he would give me an egg roll on my next visit if I would just accept it as it was. I said no, I wanted the BBq pork. He said it would be 10 minutes and they’d call me when it was ready because there was no room inside. Well, another hour goes by while I’ve talked to 2 different people, all managers apparently but different than the one I originally talked to and still no pork. Went inside and spoke to a waitress who talked to the cooks and saw there was no ticket for me and no one knew anything. She was able to get me pork in about 5 minutes. Missed family at my house during this time and the rest of our food was cold. Left a sour taste in my mouth, but I was trying to be gracious as it was a busy night. I hope they can do better for the next holiday or...
